Very unethical practices by MG Pakistan. One should avoid this brand imo.

I've stopped by MG Lounge couple of times, and always there is someone arguing with them about delivery of their vehicle. That poor guy probably was tired of waiting as well and the fighting resulted adrenaline rush, that caused heart attack.

LAHORE - The Sindh High Court, while hearing the petitions of MG Motors, restrained the host of a media channel, an anchor and a YouTube channel from making any baseless allegations or false propaganda against MG Motors

MG Motors lawyer Bazad Haider Advocate told the court that MG Motors has been facing baseless propaganda on social media. The court, after reviewing the judiciary, restrained the three accused from making any baseless allegations against MG Motors in the future
However, MG Motors is grateful to all its customers for their patience in delivering MG Motors cars, adding that MG Motors is committed to the delivery of all its vehicles and will ensure delivery in every possible way. The representatives of MG Motors further elaborated that these legal measures are being taken by MG Motors only; the consumers do not have any misconception that MG Motors will not fulfill its promises and MG Motors in its best efforts. It is expected that it will provide vehicles of good quality and safety to all consumers in Pakistan

It may be recalled that MG Motors is the only company in Pakistan which is introducing electric vehicles in the “B” category segment and also bringing a wide range of hybrid vehicles which is a good quality and cheap way of transport for the consumers. MG Motors’ CKD vehicles will also be introduced soon and work on the dealership network is in full swing.
The representatives of MG Motors further said that both the vision and mission of MG Motors at this time focused only on the introduction of export quality vehicles in Pakistan which not only select modern technology but also take care of high quality of safety. MG Motors further said that it will not tolerate any kind of false propaganda following the order of the judiciary and has the authority to take stern action.

I checked the market, car is easily available on 2.75 - 3 ON. In another month, it will go down even more, because of too much supply from investors.

But let me say the obvious, each and every Pakistani who goes to dealerships and fights with the staff due to delayed delivery is equally responsible for this debacle.

If we cannot contain our lust and greed for money (talking about investors only) then whatever happened with investor's money being stuck for months is good.

With regards to normal buyers, i still cannot understand how can somebody spend 6 million on something whose sparts parts, after sales service and dealership network is still; largely on paper or if existing then their promise of locally assembled cars is still largely on paper.. And when such shady business tactics are exhibited again and again.....how can our people turn a blind eye to the obvious.

Not to belittle the actual owners, Yes the car is really good looking and offers alot of stuff and looks nice on the road. But please, for a rational consumer this is not a safe bet.

I agree with this. Actual buyers willing to take the plunge are a drop in the bucket. Majority of HS buyers just see it as a hot commodity they can sell for own money.

Bro, since you're quite good with calculating duties etc. Can you do a final cost comparison of current CBU HS and upcoming CKD one? You think the price will remain same or CKD will be 3-4 lac cheaper?

ckd should be 10 lac cheaper, but it wont be as MG has claimed that the ckd of HS is more expensive than the CBU. talk about being cheeky.

Are you referring to import cost? Yes CKD is more expensive. But duties on CKD are much lower than CBU so still, CKD should be cheaper.

CBU HS declared value $11,632.
Total incidence of duties @ 123.77% on declared.

CKD HS kit declared value $16,329.
As per green field status, " Concessional rate of custom duty @ 10 percent on non- localised parts and @ 25 percent on localised parts for a period of five years ".

For CKD, how much do total duties/taxes add up to - assuming all parts are non-localized?

10% for all non localized, so let's assume entire kit will remain non localized, it will be 10% for 5 years from the day the first local assembled vehicle rolls out of the assembly line. This is what I understand. Experts can make correction.
