I have a question for you reason being you are close to Faisalabad dealer.

Why on good declaration form/ BL, the custom duty accessed and declared values are being hidden with a black marker? I am in touch with 5 different MG HS owners and one is actually from MG Lyallpur, where on the provided document, this information is hidden and now excise is not registering the vehicle. The vehicles cant be register for over a month now . As per requirements, this information must be visible.

Any idea ??? Are these imported units under valued ?

My uncle got his HS and he registered it I don’t know about these hidden values in the document I’ll give a look to it and let you know tomorrow

can you share the BL for your uncle? Also if you dont mind the registration number and the city of registration.

My contact called dozen times to MG Lyallpur since December 21, no one is helping him. He asked for the BL and initially they refused , later provided it BUT with black marker all over it. On the same BL, there are 6 more units of HS and values are also hidden for those as well. 2 individuals got their vehicles from MG Lahore, and same case with them. They booked in September and got delivery in December.

I would like to know the reasons behind hiding this information?/

Went to packages mall yesterday and talked to the MG representative giving information to people. My question to him was " Leave all aside, tell me when is the local production starting?". His reply was Sir local production to filhaal bhool jain. My next question was "how come you guys are claiming to have sold tens of thousand of units and how will they be getting deliveries". His answer was sir we are importing MG and people are going to prefer imported units over local. My next question was " how are you going to import more than 100 units and keep charging the same announced price when duty reduction is for first 100 units?" His reply was "sir we are going to sell on the same price till the time dollar remains stable." While trying to digest what he said, I wished him good luck and walked away.

That's the thing they've actually imported way more than 100 units of the HS according to the public import records. How they're doing it? I've no idea.

So, we should ask them , what was the reason for green field status as per auto policy expiring by June 2021??

Secondly, its OK if they want to import and sell. No issues with that BUT what's the deal with the after sales service and support? OK we have just one such facility and Faisalabd but is MG for Faisalabad only ?.. They are celebrating 1000's of sales but by now there should be fully functional 3S dealerships atleast in all big cities and currently there is nothing.

We did some discussion on the CBU and assuming that MG is importing these units at full duty structure. MG is really doing a great job and public service if that's true. Or hiding the value from the custom declaration means these are actually undervalued. I have no idea....

Yeah i don’t have any idea about it either it seems weird how they have already brought in more then 500 units in Pakistan

Most probably they are paying full % of duty which is around 123% of the value of the vehicle [ 1300 to 1500cc ]

But how can a company have plans to sell 1000+ units by selling cars at a loss probably just setting themselves up before local assembly but even that is at least 1-2 years away

They will not be paying full duty, I'm pretty sure they are doing a double Shah, maybe they have registered a company under each of their models and would be bringing in 100 cars per model of company. Lol, who knows, but it will be something like it. They will get the money but selling some over priced cars and will use that seed money to build a car workshop/ manufacturing plant.
Get so many people invested in a product that you end up getting some more relief to "protect" the people "interests."

And this MG scam will hopefully open the doors to imported car dealerships for Pakistanis. A new policy of some sorts.
