Guys what do you recommend.Right now I am looking at both MG and Proton X70.One is in hands of "on Mafia" with no 3S coverage the other gives a long delivery time.While MG is sportier,Proton is an executive vehicle.Tucson has the same lengthy wait while Sportage now needs an urgent facelift and additional features. Glory does not fall in this category hence not on radar.My 6th sense tells me to go for ProtonX70.

I blv X70 is a great choice. . The proton has been a best seller in Malaysia while Geely is also seeling the same car with different names in othercountries, multiuply that with the volvo platform it will be a better bet,
I am also pretty confident that the dealer Alhaj will be treating it better too than the FAW models. THe 1.5 motor in X70 is also an award wining engine,

MG HS is also a decent car, but its still un tested and MG road map in Pakistan is unclear, they seem to be using the ploy to market extensivley and nothing in regards of prodcutionand maintainance.

Sportage is a very solid car, but as you have no interest in it and also it lack amenities as compared to the X70 and MG

Price wise x70 is the best bet,

It has started making dealerships now and some are even complete plus what’s the problem with premium mafia you should just book it from the dealerships I think MG is better in looks externally and internally
Proton is also pretty nice but MG is better IMO
I would suggest MG any day but I will suggest you to wait and see how it performs for some time as situation is still unclear

I guess you forgot how registration of cars were blocked because of miss calculation of tax by excise in Punjab for 2013/2016 registered vehicles in Punjab.

That's a mistake by excise and the party involved was the end customer who registered in their name. The mistake was corrected and hence the charging of the balance registration fee.
In case of MG the party involved is the importer, not the purchaser. And there is no mistake in tax calculation, there can only be a misdeclaration of the import invoice price, and for that the penalty would be on the importer, not the purchaser.
Two different things really.
Eg. If the Greenfield status holder company imports CBU's for sale on subsidized duties, and later does not make CKD's they will have to pay the balance import duty, not the customer who purchased and is using the vehicle.

The problem of 3S dealership persists especially in Karachi.You may get the car from so called showrooms at excessive premium but booking through them would be tricky.I wasn't even comfortable with the biggest of them namely AutoMall on Sharea Faisal opposite Awami Markaz.Though one can wait for 3/4 months for delivery but 8/9 months in case of Proton or 5/6 months for Tucson is ridiculous.
While Al-Haj claims Proton X70 Turbo to run on Regular Super Petrol,MG requires 100 Octane or Ron 97.So things are pretty fluid in so far as actual booking is concerned.Right now KIA is the only company following a decent schedule and living uptown customer's expectations. However they need to add an extra feature or two to remain competitive in the ongoing year.

I believe and will strongly insist that the regular 92 Octane is NOT used in X70 as far as locally refined fuel is concerned. The problem is NOT the 92 octane as far as the grade of fuel , the problem is the quality of that 92 octane fuel , which is extremely questionable for local blend coming out of local refineries.

Aoa! Does anyone know the total registration costs of MG ZS/HS in Islamabad. Do we have to pay Witholding Tax?
