OK guys.. the update.

I will be talking to senior head marketing MG directly and gets things clarified. They approached me and want me to clear things for greater public interest. They do agree that the BLACK OUT marker thing was NOT a right thing and actually around 400 vehicles had the same issue of not getting registered.

They have sent letter to Excise very recently to clarify the issue and now on , MG will get registered.

There is no issue of under-invoicng as per them. But as wr all know the unclear paperwork automatically raised these questions and Additionally when vehicles were not getting registered was further causing doubts.

Anyways , I was approached by a high offical and I will share all details with everyone here. Lastly we all want more and better cara but obviously without any gray area.

Just make sure you dont bow down to pressure. And dont forget they were crooks to begin with when they evaded millions in tax when common man was bearing the brunt of high taxes. They deserve public punishment.

They now do agree that HS customers had issues in registration process . The first vehicle got registered in 2nd week of January. They do agree that the black marker action should not have happened.

They also agree that this should have been fixed much earlier and should not have reached to the point that it started making things doubtful.

I am not sure, if they are caught now and have changed the stance or otherwise they wanted to continue this improper practices.

They also said, they have 900 units of HS reaching port by end of Feb and first week of march.

I will ask them the timeline for CKD. As Is aid, i will share all details as soon as talk to them possibly tomorrow.

Another update and it's not yet confirmed. I am told by someone who also owns a car dealership.. Many banks have put a STOP on MG HS financing files. Infact almost 150 current applications are declared cancelled by multiple banks.

Obviously when a news came out bank would be doing such actions.

Around 3000 CBU's are expected to reach Karachi port in next couple of months. By next 3 to 4 weeks, around 900 will be cleared. One whole set of 200 units on a ship are all white colored units. Dhara-dar CBU are coming..

With so many coming in, God know how the clearance will go. I think a dispute like it has been reported calls for delays in clearance and then storage / demurrages charges which will spoil the margins further for JW. They are in for a ride, I just hope the customers don’t face the wrong end of it.

From their replies it seems they're not really worried, maybe got an ace up their sleeves, or certain mistakes were made and they can rectify them in hopes of resuming normal operation going forward.

I had a 45 minute call with the GM of MG.. he agreed that whatever we posted as far as the issue of registration is 100% accurate. According the him, JW SEZ was not enrolled with excise till 2 days ago. They only enrolled when things came to media that people have issues in registration.

According to him all field offices are being reached so that vehicles can be registered. He also agreed that the HD must not have been marked black , although according to him, its standard practice of doing and excise has nothing to do with apparantly BUT in reality there was an issue due to that.

He also mentioned that FBR will release an memo soon and clarifying that they have checked all documents and nothing is wrong.

He indirectly mentioned that competitor is involved maybe in all this media.

He categorically thanked me [ ] for writing the article and Facebook post about the issue and he asked me that I should keep on highlighting these problems . Actually they came to know couple of weeks ago from this thread actually when we discussed the same matter.

MG will be doing a planned press conference today possibly.

As of CKD, he mentioned they are planning to start by June 2021. He sounded positive but I could feel there might be some delay.

Like I said you are doing a great public service.Do let potential buyers know when it would be safe to book MG-HS CBUs.Though MG may not give a straight answer but they must let customer know the cut off period for booking CBUs.

I still dont understand.. they are investing billions and they never knew as car company that they have to enroll the company with Excise and they did only after social media fire... I mean is it possible that they never knew ?

Overwhelmingly positive responses received from the people got the MG team into complacency of ignoring important compliance matter such as registration with excise departments. Glad, they have taken up the matter including positive engagement with yourself in hearing highlighted concerns and clarifying their position.
