And those "10,000" were booked at a a third party car dealership " Automall. They don't even have their own space to display their own product?? I mean that too just from one City and Karachi. Just imagine he could cross 100,000 in one day if it was displayed on the same day in other cities. 10,000 units without even looking and without even test drive and without any dealership network in itself is an extraordinary feat and must go to Guinness book.

And although 100 units can be imported as CBU for launch purposes as per Greenfield status, they even didn't do that. Only 30 units were imported earlier this year.

Ok lets assume they have imported maximum 100 units for launch purposes, when those 9900 will be delivered?.. KIA did an aggressive operation , with 24+ dealerships , impressive within 90 day delivery in most of the cases and almost fully functional assembly line, did around 12000 units in the entire year.

Lastly, we will see the built quality, features, equipment and other components of the CKD MG HS and how Afridi sahab keep everything same as CBU and still sell it at the same competition price.

Javed Afridi made a new record because MG could sell only 43000 units in the whole year / 2019 in the country of over 1.6 billion people in China.

In UK, they could only sell little over 13,000 units for all models combined for this current ongoing year.

I mean Afridi sahab should be given the highest ranks by SIAC/MG.

This is all to build hype about a product which in reality does not exist. Creating demand supply gap by fake statistics so that they can ask for premiums.

Additionally creating, manipulating the market and stocks. 10,000 means 10,000 x 2000000 in deposits/ advance .. so, if its true then Afridi sahab must show the banking records to confirm this and show the success. I mean 20 billion rupees transferred to the company in one day ??? Wow.. I mean come on bhai.. this is almost 126 Million USD in one single day.. yes extraordinary things and achievements can happen but then there should be a supporting evidence about it.

Now it's time MG buy a domain name and spend few hundred dollars and put up some fancy website [ still not one available]

one of my "Jan-nay walay" have booked MG (white) with the full payment of 55 and tentative delivery date is 25th December 20 around. Lets see when it arrived.

Aa per green field status CAT-A , you can import only 100 units for the same model PROVIDED you erect a plant to CKD the same model locally. These 100 units are at 50% duty subsidy for the launch purposes. Any more units will attract same 100% level of duty structure.

MG only imported 30 units few months ago. I mean rest of green field status players like Hyundai and KIA would make a real issue if govt allow any other player more than 100 units @ reduced rates. They made investment of billions. How they will allow any other car maker to import units over the policy limit and that too with the subsidized rates.

MG local partner, with currently no local dealership network have been promising a CKD by June 2021. I mean any units over 100 would be locally assembled then and what would be the delivery time ?

The owner here is playing a complete moron. But looks like there is a class above him as well i.e the people who have actually booked/bought it.

Well.. so this means MG will sell at a loss of approx 4 to 5 million on each unit they sell ? If I take duties @ 3 Million per unit, and 1000 units of confirmed booking.. I believe duty is higher.

That is 1000 x 3000000 = 3 billion in losses [ $18 Million] just to launch a product. I mean technically car companies dont even make that much profit on each unit they sell and by the way the company also mentioned around 10,000 in bookings so that would mean 30 billion in losses???

A company is taking billions in losses to launch a product and still don't have a website or for that matter ..no dealership network and taking bookings via a third party used car dealers.

By the way, I came go know that they have contracted an on street regular workshop in Karachi for service. Not sure if this is how you launch a product.

Maybe they will assemble on the premises of a local assembler. Earlier there were pictures of the MG HS with many Yaris in the background. Maybe that was taken at IMC premises.

It must have cost them a lot of money to showcase MG all over Packages Mall. I went there on Saturday and they were everywhere, inside and outside. All of this show just to sell 100 CBU units? Maybe its just early marketing, dealerships and factories come later. Anyway, without dealerships, a factory, and a functioning website, there is no point buying this car.

They're playing super clever by hiring PR agents and social media marketers/YouTubers.

There's nothing concrete about the actual product the car.

This is clear example of someone trying to make quick money and they'll exit the market sooner than people can even comprehend what the hell was going on!

All owners will be left on aliexpress mercy.

They have 30 units imported out of wwhich they shift few from one city to another for this promotional event. As of now there is no clear on ground network, timeline of production and so on...
