i have visited when I would take the car for service, if the workshop is letting every one inside the premises i wont be very confident in taking my car to that workshop myself.

no professional workshop would allow such, if anyone is, than they are being un professional. That is why you need to take persmission, it doesnt make you less of a man.

Have u ever visited Honda or Toyota dealerships? No permission is required.
Even if we went with prior permission, that wouldn't have changed the condition of the after sales service or the workshop. also, not having a good after sale service is not practical in purchasing this car also where you claim ur 4 years warranty, which they are offering.

There workshop look like some old 1980s one.

you guys do understand there is a differnce between a dealership and the service area? you may visit the dealership anytime, but how on earth would a dealership allow anyone to enter their service area? and that too without persmission?

again, If i know of a dealership which allows any tom or harry to enter their servicebay, I WILL NOT take my car to that service area and file a complaint with their headoffice.

As far as being outdated or having less equipment, it is one's right to know and if you want to see how their setup is, why no just ask for permission to observe it?

lol...@irfananwar was right, u r taking ur cars in the NASA service areas but I am talking about workshops in Pakistan.

I am not here to debate on the permissions aspects and still it doesn't justify the poor after sales service MG is currently providing.

Going into the workshop areas where the technician work is normally out of bound everywhere in the world unless the tech want to show owner of the vehicle any specific work or if owner request to look at something about the vehicle, one can go with permission.

Only the japanese brand companies allow people in their workshops here in pk. None of the german brands allow it and MG seems to go by that rhetoric as opposed to the japanese brands. But it is totally normal for this to happen but then again I don't trust people in these dealerships to fix a car unsupervised, i've had several instances at Toyota even where i had gone away for just a few mins and my headlight bulbs and some small bearing were stolen and replaced by used and abused parts.

I would also like to ask the people about the delayed deliveries. I've heard some people have still not even recieved their february delivery because i ordered it on March 1st alhalmdulillah but still haven't gotten a message or acknowledgement from the company or anything other than the sales order on the day i booked it till yet.

entry to service area is restricted throughout the world.

Yes in PK toyota/honda allow it, it's only pak specific.. but here too brands like Audi etc don't allow it.

I left my car in Honda service center unsupervised for a few minutes and someone stole my vision glasses. This is Pakistan, everything must be supervised.

I agree, that one should have some vision/access to their cars in service bay, and mostly there is a waiting room facing the service area and one can inspect. These again are for people who have their cars in the service bay,

However MG Pak gives the temporary feel because they jumped the market head first, with no ifrastructre started selling the cars, and as the cars are pretty decent they penetrated. Now comes the hard part of the upkeep, and they are shooting from the hip, all the SM abuzz with their non presence got them into building their workshops with no equipment, and right now as the pictures suggest they have only put in the bare minimum, i.e. the oil change/ inspection stations.

I still blv their profit margin is way less to flood the market and run, They now have a brand presence and they should capitalize and build better dealer ship presence. I still however dnt think they are gonna start the assembly soon.

That's a sorry state of affairs for a workshop even by Pak standards. Im sure there would be some non-company branded workshops in Islamabad with better look-and-feel than this.

In December, I saw a couple of MG HS being repaired (bodywork, denting, painting) at Toyota Ravi motors, Lahore. I asked their service manager about it later, he said they were being serviced there earlier, now they have their own workshop and get their work from there. It might be the same for twin cities for now I guess.

As for your other points, I have been to service bays of Toyota and Suzuki several times, without any issues or anyone asking me. In fact at most dealerships, you take your car directly to the service area yourself and tell them what work you want done. They do have it written that customers are not allowed sometimes, but it is generally not followed, and customers are not stopped from visiting the service bays.

One thing I have noticed is that if you have been a customer of the big three and have visited their workshops, you will not like the service bays of new entrants. The scale of the big three service areas is too big to be achieved by new entrants easily.

Only Kia has been able to somewhat match them so far. Maybe because many suzuki dealerships converted into Kia ones.

No where in the world are you allowed to.enter the service area of a workshop
It is not about NASA it is about safety laws. It is forbidden in Pakistan as well and Toyota Honda dealerships also stop you from going but agree when our educated anparhs insist and threaten them.

First, we are not talking about what happens in the world, we are talking about Pakistan.

Second, if a person who wants to buy a 5.5 million vehicle wants to check what after sales services are being offered by a company as shady as MG and requests a workshop visit, there shouldn't be a problem.

Third, I have visited multiple honda and toyota dealerships a gazillion times and no one told me that I was not allowed in the workshop. Nor there were any signs that customers aren't allowed in the workshops. If there were, i would have happily taken a seat in the waiting lounge.

Forth, yes, the safety laws should apply, but seeing at the condition of the workshop in the below picture, it looks like that tall boundary wall is going to collapse anytime. Which safety laws are we talking abt here?
