Seems like they're doing very well. Establishing a high quality assembly plant.

Signs are positive.

Own lanat is there on every brand. Worse is Hyundai Tucson.

MG is new in the market. I have also criticized them but credit where due.

Lack of dealerships, 3s, and branding a Chinese company as British are still issues.

But first 2 are natural as it's very new.

LOL @ political criticism. The issue of under invoicing was first highlighted in this forum much much before it came in the mainstream news. And the analysis proved to be pretty accurate and those defending MG's practices back then are now posting worried questions whether they'll have to pay additional duty. No one has any bias against MG. We're only highlighting their shady practices. Would do the same for Tuscon on their lack of supply but no point discussing that here is it? The plant set up (finally) is certainly a positive news for MG. But there's still a lot of ground to cover in terms of parts and 3s network. And frankly Javed Afridi's idiotic tweets don't do much good to MG's already questionable reputation.

The images (the 4th & 6th) images are of manual welding stations. Don't see any robotic stations.

I will reconfirm for paint shop for Kia BUT as of the body in white , nothing is robotics. All welding, fixing of parts is manual.

As of body itself , I have some interesting pictures for comparison of the Imported Carnival vs the new Sorento .. the difference in finishing under the engine bay is quite evident. Will share sometime in the Sorento thread.

Toyota IMC has robotic welding (Yaris as of now) and painting process since May 2020 (robotic painting went live towards end of 2019).

I had a 45 minute call with the GM of MG.. he agreed that whatever we posted as far as the issue of registration is 100% accurate. According the him, JW SEZ was not enrolled with excise till 2 days ago. They only enrolled when things came to media that people have issues in registration. According to him all field offices are being reached so that vehicles can be registered. I had a 90 minutes chat with Mr Asif who is the GM Marketing for MG Pakistan and I shared each and every issue with him. He did agree that there are issues at dealers level. Again I don't agree that dealers is involved in the BS but the company don't know about it. CBU booking was closed on March 19th via an internal circular BUT all these dealers still taking booking and in many cases full payment. I know someone who represent ABB in Pakistan and they deployed some equipment at Indus as well as Atlas and according to him, all the spot welding is manual. Again this is from couple of years ago.

As of painting, yes a 5-axes robots were planned in 2019 and again ABB provided some assistance in power equipment but I was not sure if it went into operation.
