Habib Rafiq group is a thug since always. They are the masters of shady dealings and underhand profits made by duping investors in their construction projects usually acquired through backdoor money. No wonder they chose the brand "zotye" as it closely rhymes with an urdu word which customers of this group are regularly being made of!

If you want smth other than Kia/Hyundai I'd suggest try waiting for proton x70.

MG thing rn is too confusing, shouldn't go for it until we actually see a plant + proper dealerships on ground in my opinion.

They don't even have an operational dealership.

No website.

Operating via shopping malls.

If you want a vehicle only with no support network, parts availability etc then sure.

But too big of a risk as it's a large amount.

Yaar tbh not a huge fan of Protons. I know the MG is chinese too but it doesnt look too bad in person. Interior quality is better than expected.

But youre right, actually booking one seems too risky.

Nothing new about it. They imported 30 units and these are being sent to different location around the country for marketing campaign.

As per unofficial news, MG CKD is not ready for another 2 years.. YES.. confirmed, local partner is not ready for local assembly. Forget about June 2021 when ADP expires. That's is also a reason that no one wants to invest and open a typical franchise dealership and service department until the company has onground footing. All current MG so called dealerships are basically outlets/ DUKANS and most probably also rented by MG themselves.

I'd suggest waiting for X70 as well. Sure, it's branded as a proton but it's not actually a proton. It's a cut above other "pure" protons in quality / fit and finish etc.
Wait a few days for the official launch, go check it out and I'm certain you'll be surprised by it.

Are you sure? I heard that they'll be ready for production by July 2021 - they have already broken ground on the plant. Many IMC engineers were poached by MG and have started working on Plant layout, etc.

100% sure.. the plant is not ready and will not be ready for another year or 2. They are planning to convert an old Haier factory and it's just in planning stage.

I hope it gets ready by June 2021. I am told exactly as I mentioned. Plant is not ready. Let's see.

It's a pretty enough car. You could buy it, since you're getting a whole lot for what you're paying. But then again, they don't have much dealership support yet.

Well if you buy pretty much any imported car in pakistan youre on your own for aftersales service and parts etc. We had a bmw x1 earlier (my brother did) and even oil filters weren’t available at the dealership.

So you could go ahead and buy it since it's a good deal. I've sat in one, my brother's friend's car, and it felt more expensive than the car was actually worth. I think this car is going to be more prolific in the near future.

Not really.

You could buy an imported jdm to get even more premium feel. Chr for instance with better reliability.

Plus point with jdms is they have a huge parts ecosystem. Lots of stuff is available, parts, body parts engines etc. In markets. Scrap yards. Importers too.

With this import nothing is available.

and you'll be crying browsing on aliexpress to find a part..that probably won't get shipped either. Good luck finding suspension, body parts or anything mechanical.
