Nice writeup! What do you think the final price of CKD would be including taxes? I have a feeling, it won't be lowered from current 5.7 mil or max they will lower it to 5.5 mil.

Excellent article. I was curious as to how come prices of a fully assembled MG are in the same range as locally assembled SUVs like Tucson and Sportage. Despite a 123% duty, the prices of an imported MG are still comparable to a locally assembled Sportage or Tucson. Seriously, how?

Read them both. Just people cursing MG. MG is to be blamed for poor sales service but people should also be a bit careful in buying products without any research. Just shows that people are ready and willing to sunk their money in any new enterprise without doing their homework. But my question still stands as to how come MG is able to price imported SUVs at such a low price, inclusive of import duties.

That's exactly what I think. I must say they are extremely brazen to be dealing in such a manner. Selling 1000s of vehicles in such a way is risky but they must have some support to be doing business like this.

That's your typical Pakistani businessman. Likes of him started off with smuggling stuff still think they are in barra market. There is so much money in smuggling they own half the commercial markets in Lahore, Karachi, Pindi and most other big cities, and they pay in cash... sacks full of money. Alright brother I have driven MG HS around 1200 km and the first problem I have come across is my adas has stopped working front collision system plus emergency pedestrian braking system all of it turns off on its on after which I get a warning that adas is not available tried to contact automall for inspection but they said won't be able to before Eid on which I insisted to them to atleast have look to which they unwillingly agreed for Monday but still unsure as they said we are moving from automall to mg service centre you have to call around 12 on Monday to confirm.. pathetic behaviour in term of after sales service God know what will happen next

So, should we expect the decrease in CBU price of 300K which was increased due to revised custom value ??

Been saying it since day one. The entire case is literally FBR sitting on foreign MG sites and just estimating the car's value randomly. Since SAIC owns a portion of MG Pakistan you cannot legally have any evidence against under-invoicing and SAIC can under invoice it as much as they want because GOP can only rely on how much the car is sold by SAIC to MG Pakistan which is also owned by SAIC.

Yes , this further confuses the CKD/SKD pricing . It should be further less than the $11632. Again SAIC and JW will have justification for higher CKD unit price and not sure if that 300K increase will be reversed.

SAIC is owner with 51% and they are the one also providing Information in the home country.

Well have heard that the CBU is sold at a loss for market capture and maybe the CKD is sold at normal price. Like i said if SAIC sells the CBU at a loss by pricing it at $11,362 then the GOP cannot do anything as they are bound only to the $11,362 price even if it is a loss

News: the digital cluster that will now be delivered in all CBU's from this week is different from the one in the 300k more version. The one being given now is the exact same central screen in the cluster with the tachometers now being two digital screens as opposed to the full digital cluster which is one single screen with a different UI.
