Michelin Energy XM1 (not Michelin XM1) needed...plz help

hi guys....i have run my Yokohama 306s (185/70/R13s) in my platz for more than 50,000 kms. although the tyres still look good, there condition is not excellent i wud say as i have done too many long runs on it (thrice from quetta to islamabad, twice from isb to naran, once from quetta to karachi and many many times from isb to peshawar and lahore). i m now looking for Michelin Energy XM1s but somehow cant find them here in quetta. so, can anyone in pindi or islamabad please find me these tyres (new offcourse) from someone trustworthy in 185 or 175 in 13s ? i wud be utterly grateful

thanks boss...but as i have mentioned in the topic, i need Energy XM1, not the XM1 preferable in 175 13s...if not, then 185 offcouse. wud be waiting to hear from u...eagerly

i've asked a few people in pindi and ISB and none have the "energy" tyres,... funnily eought they said these tyres are "fail" in PK,... and i had to educate them about the benefits.

hahaha....bhai forget abt these local lads. they know nothing abt anything. i myself cant find the energy series anywhere, neither the XM1 or the energy saver. finally deciding to go for XM1s. now again wondering whether to go for 175 or 185. i know u wud recommend me 175s, but it wud lower the car. i m already running 185 and they are going great..and the height is a LIL bit better too...so what do u say ??

oh boy. just had contact with a guy. my personal fav "best value for money" trye yokohama A drives, which used to be available only in 14s and 15s are now available in 13s as well. awesome. i m so much thinking og going for them now. fresh tyre, december 2009 made. i have these tyres on like 4 cars in my house already. lets see where i end up.

whatever yo uchoose i'd suggest ou stick with stock height (overall height) as fitting larger or smaller tyres can upset the vehicle dynamics.

I was also looking for these a few months back, but couldn't find them so settled for Yokohama C-drive which r good, but not as good as Michelin energy. If u r unable to find them, try Yokohama DNA dB. They r actually as good as Michelin Energy n costs slightly less.

agreed sir jee. but just one thing. the stock size is 155/80/13. even if i go for 175/70/13, my diameter is actually reduced by 0.2 inches because of its 70 profile as compared to the stock 80. u already know that these cars are way too low for pakistani roads, so lowering the car further 0.2 inches plus additional weight of CNG cylinder gonna make the car too low.therefore, i have decided to go for 185s again, as the ones i m currently using, which will only increase the overall diameter of the car by 0.4 inches, which is fairly less when u consider the lowering of the car with some load and a cng cylinder as well

You have asked for the right tyre which I did not realize then! Go for energy XM1 and not simple XM1! I had the simple ones. As far as wear is concerned, I do not think michelin tyres wear so quickly. In fact what I remember that my internet searches told me they will last around more than 75,000 km.

One thing, their dry handling is not much better than the stock General tyres but the wet handling is awesome! In dry they will slip (as my city does not have ABS) whereas in wet they seldom slip!

I am just waiting for them to wear out so that I either buy Energy XM1 or some other. Will research later.

Between I found these energy XM1 at a shop in blue area Islamabad but they were asking a lot of money which I was not able to pay then. That was why I shifted to XM1 which I found at a pretty decent rate then, around half of what they were asking for Energy XM1!

Let me know if I could be of more help in this regard.
