Mileage of old mehran model 91

hi, I bought an old model mehran (1991) it was in pretty bad shape in terms of suspension as it was leaning on left side.My father got some work done as front hissa, front shock kabali installed, rear kamani shock repaired , wheels changed kabali but in better shape front two alloy rim , carburater washed and small jet installed .After spending around 30k on mechanical work , the car is still not giving reasonable mileage.its mileage is not more than 6 to 7 .what can i do to improve its mileage ? another bothering thing is, its clutch which is very hard and downgearing is hard as well

get the carb serviced by proper carburetor specialist then get compression test done that can deduce engine condition get alignment done proper tune up on Analyzer machine so it can check hoe much fuel is the car consuming what is the plugs condition are they black or orange? clutch in Mehran is usually hard but get clutch plate inspected maybe it needs replacement change fuel filter hopefully you will reach proper diagnosis

i have done carburetor work done from a local mechanic who is known for it , apparently it seems that after carburetor work mileage has improved slightly.Done alignment check as well but as i live in a small town the mechanic did it in a desi way , with measuring tap.plugs are newly installed so it can't be the reason.as the previous owner claimed that he overhauled the engine so fuel filter must be changed , isnt it ? as for clutch , the mechanic said the finger prints of pressure plate are bent and it needs to be replaced ? do you think faulty clutch can be contributing to bad mileage ?

As I own Mehran 2010 model from a decade, these are my thoughts:

Get Engine PSI checked and consult the readings with an educated mechanic in your area. Also check distributor wires (resistance value on all three wires), ignition coil (both primary and secondary wiring) with Multimeter and if anything faulty change it . Get the NGK genuine spark plugs from a good shop. Get all the wiring tested properly covered taped and change all connectors with new one in your car. Also check fuel filter and fuel pump. Get the timing set from a very good ustad (educated mechanic or suzuki 3s) with the help of timing light. Get Clutch plate/pressure plates checked.
Hopefully after these steps you'll get 16-17 without AC and 12-13 with AC.

since car is old it wont be be able to give you mileage beyond 12 without ac i have a Mehran 97 and with ac it gives me 10 to 11 max clutch plate does contribute a bit
