Mira 2008 Gear Box Conversion from 3 AT to 4 AT

Hi,

I have 2 door Mira 2008 model (basic variant - probably L). It is 3 AT (3 shift car) gear. Gear box seal was leaked very slightly from last 1 year so my mechanic said to keep it going and keep an eye on the gear oil level. Now the leakage has increased and they have suggested to change the gear box.

My question here is that can I install 4 shift gear in replacement of 3 shift gear in my Mira?
Will there be any complications in it?
Is this replacement possible mechanically?

You will need the following:

ECU for the 4at transmission model
4at transmission
Ideally: you will also like to get a 4at instrument cluster, so it shows gears on the cluster.

I think its very do-able provided you find all the right equipment. Other engine specs, everything is the same as the 4 door version with 4at transmission.

Thank a lot Mansoor! But I am a bit illiterate in such mechanical things actually. Can you please elaborate a bit about this "ECU"? As I will also discuss them with my mechanic.

4 AT Trasnmission is actually the gear box? If yes then ofcourse that is what is problematic right now.

Cluster is the thing on which gear level is shown? The one with the hand break or in speedo meter?

ECU is the Engine Control Unit (Engine ka computer box in local language)

4at transmission is your gearbox ( you will need to find it)

Cluster is in the instrument panel and shows you gear changes. You can do without it too...

No idea about prices or labour. It should not be too expensive since you will be exchanging your components - however expensive is a relative term.
