Mira ES 2013, Insanely low 6km/L average

Hi, just bought a Mira ES 2013 L variant (ODO: 68k) from showroom in Karachi, very good condition, drives fine and everything.
My first day with it today, drove it only 15km this morning nothing more. After I parked it at the office, the digital screen showed me 6km/L average. WTF? Hasnt it calibrated it the entire way I drove it or do I specifically have to click on km/ltr screen to make it calculate it? Cause I clicked it when I was like 5 minutes from my office.
Either way very weird, the showroom told me the average is fine. 13/14 in traffic,18 when its cruising. How do I fix this? I mean 6km/L is insane, i feel I've been robbed.

When I get off from work, ill drive it with the FUEL average meter in front of me. Hope this fixes it. Nahi tu I'm definitely robbed. Had such high hopes for this.

update: The car is heating up very badly and has consumed up 6 litres of petrol in 40km. It broke down in the middle of the road, took it back to the showroom and he says he'll get it fixed. Im demanding my money back or get me a new car. What should I do? This has been the worst thing happen to me financially ever!

First of all get it tuned , change all lubricants and get cat con cleaned ... The plugs , exhaust and cat con will tell the basic condition....and if you want to go in details ...get a compression test .....don't jump to any conclusion as the meter can be faulty

the instant fuel avg display will show something really stupid like this low number if you keep the car parked and idle the engine with ac running.

As you drive it more and more, the number will change.

I have personally seen the "makeup" being done to these JDM KEI cars/hatchbacks etc. They dont even drive em to the showroom directly, first these things land at the workshops where sanding, rubbing, polishing, buffing, detailing and repairs are done. If you see the Johnny's working on these cars you will pull out your hair. All untrained babloo, chikoo, chotu, chand, stepni, bijli, pappu type. Electricians are simultaneously ripping out wiring and patching them. Right little rape scene with the cute darlings "fresh aaactun fraam Yapan"

if by chance you leave vehicle & keys with car wash / parking guys. Stealing petrol is very common.

besides that JDM Scrap cars have zero new parts support. Scrapyard shopping is weekly routine for many JDM owners. Am sorry you made a wrong choice., live with it, JDM owners are ' Gold Chest' for members like @asaadbaig86 who feel blessed as "innsha ALLAH" and make money out of JDM owners selling scrapyard items at price of Iphone10

Yes, I did. Car now seems to work better for the most part. Its long-term average stands at 13.5/liter. Thats below avg but i think the roads where I live and work are so fucked so avg doesn't ever get the time to calibrate properly ( i live in Khi).
But yeah, I think Miras get 16-17/liter. I think I've spent like 30k on it till now.
I initially bought it for 17lacs. Have driven it 4000km in 4 months

Wanna hear a cool story? This is a meter reversed car! I checked the auction sheet from PakWheels. It was imported in 2017 at 66000km ODO. Guess what the ODO was when I bought it in Aug'2022??? 67000 something. Either this fucking car has only been driven 800-1000km in 5 yrs (since 2017) or i've been duly robbed! :D.
what can I say, land of pure. But the car seems to work fine except for the shitty avg 13.5/litre. So yeah. thats my story. I wish I wouldve bought an alto AGS for 21lac instead. But the Own-payment on that thing is 4lac something. Fuck this country honestly. I paid a premium on a used car so I could get the best condition I can find. but instead, got my ass handed to me. I havent even told all of this bs to my family yet. Its me , my friends and this very polite pakwheels forum. God save us from these dakaits

thats the reason i prefer new small car (alto ) over sedan (used) with same bracket! i can tell you 99% people tell a lie ..there car is not worth of that price.

Small 600cc cars esp. made by Suzuki are a piece of junk and that includes Alto and Mehran. They are too compact and too slow like a donkey.

Both of my cars are used sedans +6 years old mashallah, and they are a treat on the roads. Smooth, fast and comfy drive.

You just need to know how to maintain. The fact is used Toyotas and Hondas are much more reliable than the crappy cars of Suzuki. People who recommend 600cc cars are in a state of denial.

every car is made for a purpose. the alto is driven daily. it serves its purpose very effectively. I drive 50-60 kms daily. it gives double the mileage of civic. its superb to drive in karachi traffic, very nimble soft steering.
