Hello everyone,

Thank you for a wonderful forum. It has helped me a lot in understanding my car better. I drive a Mira (X Memorial - 2015) model. It has been a great car so far but now it's clocked 55k on the odometer and old car problems have started to pop up. I have a few question:

1. Are steering & wheel alignment two separate jobs? If so, how much does it cost to get it done and are there any risks is getting it done by a regular mechanic. Is it a complicated task? I know wheel alignment is simple and can be done by most wheel shops. What about steering alignment? Is that even needed?

2. Local mechanics love to recommend a thicker oil once car gets older. I have been using 5W-20 on their recommendation but does that damage my car or impact the fuel efficiency? I haven't noticed a major change yet. The only good thing is that 5W-20 is more easily available.

3. I have recently gotten front brake pads replaced and had the tires replaced at 50k. (I think the meter might have been reversed when I purchased it or the use has been rough). Regardless - what other maintenance activities should be performed at 50k? Dealerships like Toyota suggest hefty bills but I want to know what is necessary and should be done.

   And who told you about steering alignment?

2. Keep using 5w20 oil and dont listen to mechanics at all... Dont change the grade even at 100k km.

3. why do you think meter may be reversed? Are you the first owner? When was this 2015 model car imported and registered?
   If u r 2nd owner then at what km did u purchase it?
   After these info i can guide u how to make sure the mileage is true on ur odometer.

Assuming it genuine mileage, then replace the CVT transmission oil. Make sure its the correct type, which would be mentioned on the cvt dipstick.... Dont put any ATF oil... DONT...

Unbranded for around PKR 2,500 for front wheels only. I couldn't find any detail on what brand to go for and where to get them from so stuck to a simpler choice.

Yes. The car consistently shifts right when the steering is dead straight. Steering alignment is just some random thing experts (read: ustaad) talk about!

I'm not the first owner. I got it from a local dealer with about 20,000 km on the odometer. One of the tyre had a damaged wall at 38k only and that alarmed me. I expected the set to last 50k ~ 60k at least.

Ok then... Just get the normal wheel alignment done... Strange that when u get tyres changed the tyre wala usually asks\recommends to have alignment and balancing done.... Anyways, get the alignment done, simple job.

You got it at 20k on odo in which year?
Pls have a look in ur car file for Export Certificate, and see if it has the kms mentioned on it at the time of its export... Share with us.

i have bought a mira es 2017 self import for city driving please tell what is recommended engine oil.i have poured 10w 40 but engine noise is too much now and fuel average has also dropped from 22 to 14 within city

Recommended engine oil for Mira is 0w20.

Go for zic 0w20
Previously i used aisin 0w20 but zic has marked difference in performance

I dont have exact calculation because our car runs for very short distances like from home to mosque vice versa. And in short runs fuel average comes very less. But with zic car noise and pick had really improved

The recommended oil is 0W-20 AP SN or 5W-30 API SN (SM Grade can also be used). I have tried both and they seem to be okay.

Salam members, I have Mira 2013 L. I am satisfied with its mileage Around 20-21 (mixed) Recently its engine check light turned ON when scanned from mechanic he told me it has issue in Oxygen Senor and washed the same but after two days engine check light is again ON however no impact is felt on its mileage. Please advise from where I can purchase best quality Oxygen Sensor. Regards

I have a mira eis 2015 la300s chassis
I have just touched 45k kms and want to know what services should i do?
I have not changed the spark plugs
No fuel filter
No cvt fluid
The car was bought at 5000 kms
Engine Oil change intervals and air filters were take care of

No need to change spark plugs if factory fitted are iridium which they are most likely.
No need of fuel filter before 100k and that too if you regularly use bad fuel and it will be difficult to find original

CVT fluid change general recommendation is 40k-60k so you can choose.

Just check if brake pads needs replacement or not

u should probably change the brake fluid, since it has passed 5 years, spark plugs need not to be touched, they are iridium and should never be cleaned on steel buffer. cvt oil usually need to be changed around 50k. nothing more. no fuel filters or such.
