Mira Gasket replacement ISB/RWP

Hello everyone,

Unfortunately my car heated up the other day.
Car is heating up now. Got it checked from the mechanic, it needs gasket replacement.
Issue is my mechanic is saying to replace the entire assembly for roughly 50k rather than just gasket.
Cars power is fine, no mixing of oil and water, no bubbles, water body is fine.
Anyone here got the gasket replaced on 660cc?
Any good mechanic suggestion in rwp/is

Any help is appreciated. It doesn't make sense to replace the entire assembly just because of gasket.

I think the best way you can judge a mechanic in a situation like this is whether they mention specific information. Here are some questions I would have:

How did he determine this? Which gasket? The head gasket?

Which assembly? The cylinder head? Why?

Cars power is fine, no mixing of oil and water, no bubbles, water body is fine.

Did you inspect the water pump yourself? Where are there no bubbles? Where are the oil and water not mixing?
If the car's power is fine, then why do you need a head gasket and cylinder head change? Because it overheats?

Checked it my self
Head gasket
Basically the car heats up every 15mins of driving and has back pressure. Fan works fine, new radiator installed. Radiator cap is fine too.

2: he asking me to change the engine assembly

3: checked the water pump. Bearing is fine, fins are fine. No mixing of engine oil with water at all

market name for 660 categ cars is disposable gadi
reason being it is sensitve and probability of repair working out is very low
eventually stuff has to be replaced

khair if u caught the overheating on time and did not push it or test its limits, slight chance gasket replace might work

Its better to find out why its overheating, rather than buy a junk scrapped engine.

Infact check if its actually overheating, what temperature are you seeing on the scan tool?

I have successfully ovehauled Mira 2005 engine two years back and it is still going strong. I only paid mechanic labour (as he refused to build intially as he said no parts are available ) n got got all parts by myself. Took me 3 to 4 days just to get the correct parts from plaza karachi. For example had to buy hijet,coure's and some other diahatsu vehicle gasket sets as it took few seals from each. Valves were of some other Toyota vehicle, all parts were a mix n match of Toyota diahatsu vehicles. Fortunately Parts seller was highly knowledgeable person and mechanic took it as a challenging adventure rather than a money minting project.
