Mira or Alto 660cc?

Dear friends,
I've not really been active poster here. But have always followed your posts and made correct decisions from them.
I'm in need of your help. I want to spend maximum 650k on car. I'm confused between Mira and Alto. I have seen both cars on Islamabad roads in a good number (I assume they both won't have resale problem, correct me if I'm wrong).
I just have query about couple of things.
1) Alto's spare part availability/cost vs Mira's.
2) Fuel consumption between both (my main concern)
3) reliability (i'm hoping Japan Suzuki isnt like Pak Suzuki)
4) Resale comparison.
5) Your recommendation from your personal experience.

If there is anything you'd like to add and tell, please feel free to do it.

I'm getting Mira 2007 (Unreg) for around 7 lac and Suzuki Alto 660cc for around 6.25lac.
Other than that, what are your views on other 660cc cars like Honda Life, Nissan and others?

alto 660cc engine parts are available and are cheap as per mechanics! parts are available in ample quantity in saddar rwp. however body parts are way too expensive, headlight costs upto 25k

Alto would be a better deal in my view, iv kept one for a few days, drove it, awesome fuel economy and ride. Go ahead with it..

And yup parts if both cars will be expensive but I expect alto parts to be a little cheaper than miras..

brother both have almost same resale,r u getting 4 door in 7 lakh,if thats so then go for mira but make sure its not accidented.secondly mira has better shape than alto and fuel economy of mira is better than alto,though alto parts are cheaper than mira ones

kept both, mira offers better ride height and driving pleasure but has pathetic pickup, engine crank worn out in 1 year. Suzuki is robust, more economical and pickup is excellent, air con is excellent and is very spacious as well. Mira trunk is very small but looks big.
go for suzuki

1) I heard Pak Suzuki here in ISB/RWP provides provision for maintenance of ALTO 660cc?

2) what mileage did ALTO give you? Local/Highway both. Do you think Alto is more reliable than Mira?

3) who handles tunning/maintenance issues here in ISB?

4) I went to a showroom guy today, he told me alto comes in several models. ABS/non ABS - Power/non power. Which model to buy? Any specific one?

5) I'm going to karachi next week, I have contacts here... is it feasible to buy it from there? (Transportation cost is under 15000)

Is it feasible to get ALTO 660cc with Manual Gear? What is its spare part availability? Since the manual model is very less in market.

it has gear slipping issue
plus power steering pumps are worn out in case of mira

these cars are solid as compaored to local cars we see
as one alto pkdm and one jdm were standing in hail storm
and jdm one had small negligible damage on the other hand pkdm alto was ruined
both were standing next to each other
i say go with manual alto 660
why it will give better millage as well
and when u buy it check for problems
maintaince cost is same
and body parts well see places like shoba in peshawar and mitu khan hatta in pindi as new body parts are not avaiable

The gear slippage issue occurs due to wrong specification gear oil.... These cars won't bear anything except the original branded oil by the company itself...
Zic shik nothing works... Only original oil or ur gear box is gone!!

Get an alto, go for auto and make ur life easy millions of times... Let the computer change ur gears as u relax,.. After all why u need manual? This ain't a sports car... Won't even thrill in manual. It's power and speed is just adequate... 660cc motor makes some good 50+ horses... Close to a 1000cc carbureted car.

Fuel economy for the 3 gear auto I drove was 15kmpl in the city with mild AC. Iv heard that 4 gear autos give much better mileage...

• Stay outta turbo models if any!

I am looking to buy Alto 660cc auto. How does it perform on long routes, I have to ride on M2 frequently and considering frequent long journies can I hope an Alto to perform good for me for the next 5 years?
