Mira X 2013 consuming oil?

My Dad's Mira X 2013 , 2016 registered , almost 50K driven . Isld registered , currently being used in Karachi . It is consuming oil . According to him its not dripping oil . I could really use some help here .

which oil u r using?

small consumption of oil over 1000 KM driving is normal and no issue. shift to toyota taglon 5w-50 fully synthetic oil and keep a check on oil drop and just top it up when required.

if there is no blow and white smoke from exhaust, no heat up or any other issue than its ok. nothing critical just keep the oil topped up in the car.

But reason for the oil consumption ?
I guess he is using shell oil .

The oil is lubricating the engine and very small quantities enter the cylinder. This is normal and not sth to be worried about. As Thinking said if there's no blue or white smoke coming from the exhaust then there's no issue.

It's normal for oil level to drop between 5-15% after 5,000-10,000 km. Best to keep it topped up. With extreme usage such as frequent hilly drives, speeding, operating in hot environment, etc. the oil level tends to drop more whereas in normal city conditions it will tend to drop less.

Is this car driven on highways frequently means at high rpms then it would burn off 15-20% off oil level after 5000km. Use fully synthetic oil, try Shell Helix Ultra 5W40

Is Shell Helix Ultra available in 5W-40? I've always seen it in 5W-30.

i have the same car in 2008 model and had purchased it from Khi in 2013. Since the car was used as a second ride therefore after a year of coammute i realized that it was reducing oil considerably. I used to add oil for the next year and subsequently got new rings in the engine about 1.5 years back. the car is now fine and does not reduce oil. In my opinion you need to check for this possibility as well. I dont believe in reduction of oil due to heavy foot.

Well . Guys the car has done 63000 Kms . And before 2 weeks its oil dip stick was well over the level and like 2 days ago i checked after few days its now below the level . In the past three weeks it has been driven under 3000 kms which includes a trip from khi to isld and local driving in isld . 2000 from the trip and rest local driven in the past 2 or 3 weeks or so . Its not dripping oil . Its taking more acceleration and moving less. I guess tuning is required.
Need help please . ASAP
