Misconceptions about HIDs & Projectors!

I have civic 09. I m going to install Hallogen projector lights at front. I know they are not supposed to be used with HID's, but by looking at the result (shown in pictures in ur 1st post), using HID's in hallogen projectors does look like a VERY bad idea. offcourse the HID i will use will be 4300K ones.
Do you think result of installing 4300K HID in these projector lamps will be bad? Would it be better than stoc or worse?

Following the pictures of the possible projector lamps i m going to use.

4300k will give you the most lumens(usable light), but if the projector won't focus those lumens properly on the road, you are not getting the benefit of those extra lums produced by the 4300K bulb.

Those are Halogen projectors in the pictures, they will be absolutely dreadful with HIDs in them, because they aren't meant for HID bulbs which are longer than halogen bulbs and have a different focal length.

I would suggest you to only use Halogen bulbs in those projectors.

Bear in mind that quality control for these aftermarket projectors does not exist, so you may or may not end up with a good piece. Do check their output in the dark before shelling out big bucks for them.

yaar i got a problem regarding narvas, i am using them in m city, firstly they are so hot that they melt the holder, need to change them after 5/6 months, and now they melted my light main switch need to get the new switch costing ard 3/4k what u recommand for situation like this? using relays?

technically the shouldnt have burnt. something went wrong which was not supposed to go wrong. these cars dont need relays as per my knowledge

Was the wiring of your car damaged before adding the bulbs?

and what are they rated at(the bulbs)?

sir call me crazy..but the exact same thing happened with me yesterday...with my Honda CITY 2005 model... my right headlamp bulb gave out

i also had changed them to narva's H4 bulbs.... a week before from yesterday my DIPPER(High Beam Switch) got faulty..meaning it would not stay on the high beam for more than 3 mins or so..would jump back to low beam..i mean got kinda loose...

now that u guys are talking about this im feeling that this switch problem also happened cause of the narva's...or not ?

so to sum it up my RIGHT HEADLAMP ALSO GAVE OUT....and a week before that the high beam switch fault...what do u guys reckon....

one thing to note that when installing the headlamps...the guy said "ke aapki Grip loose hai" filhaal chal hi jaye gi but just letting u know...

was it because of that...

also lemme tell u the ratings of the stock City 05 bulbs and the Narva H4's..

Stock City bulb: it has some OSRAM bulb 12v 60/55W
Narva H4: 12v 100/90W

so what do u guys reckon... pls note that i do have an aftermarket audio system in the car too... around 800-1000W RMS...but i have grounds upgraded to 0 Guage wire...

also my wiring is not damaged..just that GRIP thing that the installer mentioned...would that have caused it ?

also my headlights dont dim much if at all when the bass hits..just so ya know...

Mohson: Get a relay installed.

The "grip" could be the culprit.

momin bro what does the relay exactly do...delay the turn on ? steady voltage spike or what...

also what is the culprit of my high beam controls getting faulty...i mean i even dont use it at all to give dippers and stuff... (againt that ! )

The purpose of a relay if to control the flow of current via a contacts in the relay itself which move due to electromagnetic induction.

It is a switch that allows a small voltage to control something that requires a large voltage.

Momin so i did get the problem checked out....the bulb had NOT GONE KAPUT

it was the loose grip...which due to sparking i guess had melted...not that badly just a bit... i got it replaced with an original one...pure tight contact...and now... ITS PERFECT !

Thanks for your help. I tried the website (Power Bulbs) and it does not list Pakistan as an option to enter the delivery address. I had same problem with carbulbsdirect.com and i mailed them, They replied that they dont ship to Pakistan now due to problems faced by them, Then i tried the website recommended by you (Power Bulbs) and same problem exists there. Also, i noticed that both these websites have similar office address which means they are being managed by same people. Any suggestions how i can order Philips X-Treme H4 to be delivered in Khi? I would appreciate your help on this.
