Missing Issue in Mehran

Guys,

Please help me here. My car has this problem for quite some time now and nobody has been able to diagnose it, not even Suzuki's official service center people. The problem is simply "missing". Occasionally, the car's engine shuts down and refuses to start even after multiple ignition attempts. However, one thing that works is if i remove the distributor cap and then put it back, it often works. My car is only on Petrol, I have disconnected the built in CNG (removed the cylinder from the car as well).

Things that have been checked are Point, Almost whole carburetor, Condenser, cables, plugs, Fuel injection including fuel filter etc. The only thing that I can think of is Coil now but I am not sure that I can do a 8-9K investment when I dont know if replacing the coil will work or not. I have asked Suzuki people if there is a way to check the coil to see if it is alright or not but they say that no, there isn't.

It is a 2008 Model Mehran, non EFI obviously. And I am the only owner of this car so I definitely know that there has never been a non-genuine part installed in it.

check wiring of whole car.....there might b some loose grip or wire.....check wires of distributor and coil.....and check rotor of distributor for play in it.....try using new dizzy cap and rotor

There was a lose grip on a wire attached to Coil. I tightened it and it temporarily solved the problem. About the play in distributor, I had that sucpicion and I asked the Suzuki guy to especially check that. He checked it and said it is ok. Now, after changing the condenser, it is behaving a lot better but I am still not so sure. It occasionally misses a beat still

The ignition coil of Suzuki Mehran carby version costs Rs. 8,000/- to 9,000/- ?
This is too much for this car.
By the way you can check the primary and secondary resistances (at cold and hot) of the coil to start with.

I faced the same issue with my Mehran (2010 model- 89k driven). I also went from mechanic to mechanic, tuned up the car, changed ignition cable, distributor cap , rotor, cb point, serviced car radiator, ac service , car wiring check, making fan direct .....
After a of this and visiting 6-8 mechanics almost 12-15 times the problem stayed
It went away for couple of days and came back again later .....
I faced a lot of trouble on road with the car ... It was giving bad fuel average, jerking and stalling on road and don't start until I open the distributor cap and close it again ....
Finally I searched YouTube and found out that it may be ignition coil...
So I rushed to a nearby auto store and purchased Chinese GTCOIL (denso copy) part no. 029700-6020 (K26 12V) for Rs. 1650/- and changed it myself by removing the genuine denso faulty coil.
Now I have tested my Mehran and found out this evening masha ALLAH :-
1- Engine vibration are gone
2- car is not missing
3- no jerks
But if all is well for next 500 km then I"ll keep the car else I m going to sale it and buy city 1.3 zero meter as I m fed up wd Suzuki cars especially when they get old.

This was the genuine coil that became faulty in my guess and I replaced it today :-

The missing issue is returned to my Mehran 2010 VX-CNG both on Petrol and CNG. I have changed Coil, ignition wire, distributor cap, rotor, CB point. Now the only think remained not changed are spark plugs, i have shown to a mechanic and he told me that spark plugs are okay (i used them for 10k KMs during last 6 months NGK genuine suzuki oem).
Now what may be the problem ? i am confused....

Hi !

I am facing the same jhatka issue when:

1) Taking my car out from parking, have to keep hard foot on accelerator
2) Slowing down or accelerating in 2nd or 3rd gear.
3) Sometime even in 4th gear at 70 km/hr speed when lift my foot up from accelerator momentarily (due to any car slow down in front), but as i press it again, the car misses, gives jhatka.

So far i have done these:

Carburator cleaning
Complete tuning, plugs changed, points & condenser changed
Tappet setting
Coil replace (borrowed from somebody for a while but jhatka returned after 4 days)

Now mechanic says replace coil cables and cup. But i doubt the issue is due to cables.
I feel there it has something to do with fuel flow either some blockage or that excess flow due to which this babbling is occurring. And when this happens, I have noticed the fuel needle goes down.
Or my observation might be wrong.

I am tired of running to mechanic every 2 days with no solution just money and time down the drain due to hit & trial methods of mechanics. Nothing useful coming up.
The car is smoking fuel like anything.

Please guide me, as i am on the verge of changing the coil cables and cup, but dont want to spend anymore money on this 'hawai fire/hit & trial method' of mechanics anymore. Want to solve the issue once and for all.
