AoA. I'm facing an issue of non frequent missing /knocking in WagonR 2022. Got Air filter, plugs changed. Fuel injector cleaned. Tuning done twice. Hence, every possible solution has been done but still this Knocking is there. What can be a potential issue. Got it tested via computer also. No error appearing
From what I know, engine knock also called pre-ignition happens when the timing is too far advanced or if the timing is correct, the fuel octane is lower than what the engine needs. In very old engines excessive carbon build up on the crown of the piston also leads to pre-ignition. If enough carbon deposits itself on the piston, then it begins to glow red hot after the power stroke and is hot enough to light up the air/fuel mixture before the spark and cause pre-ignition/knocking. But that used to happen in the 50 - 60 years ago not any more.
What kind of fuel are you using?
I have used 3 wagonrs. 2018, 2022, 2025.
The only time car makes knocking was when used low quality / Smuggled Fuel from HUB chowki.
Using a 10 liter mix of hi Octance fixes this issue.
Using fuel from PSO company maintained petrol pump. But only petrol no hi octane
