bhaio salam! yar Lancer 1.6 cvt 2006 with ODO 172k k liy kon s oil suggest karin gay? last oil change was after a long time so mechanic suggest me to go with havoline 20-50 and change it after 1500 km, now it os done so suggest me which oil will be best for such car as summers are approaching and i never turned off the AC, thanku ! for ur time

I own a 2005 Lancer 1.6 CVT and it loves Shell Helix Ultra 5W-30 fully synthetic engine oil. Mechanics will sometimes suggest thicker oils but they are only trying to prevent leaking seals from leaking as thicker oil is harder to leak but thicker oil will also increase your engine's resistance. Always use the oil type mentioned in the owner's manual. If you change oil timely and keep your car well maintained then its piston seals won't leak even on 300,000 km. Some minor seals may leak such as top head seal, spark plug seal or oil pan seal but those are easily replaceable with any engine overhaul.

my car has morning smoke issue, rings and head needed to be fixed! so any recommendation regarding this case?

HI Boys, have been reading your threads for quite a few days. I just bought a lancer 2007 AT SR, with approx 236k on it. The car looks in decent shape, engine lags in the morning and feels suffocated on throttle. Mechanic says it needs an overhaul, youtube says change the spark plugs n tid bits... also which oil spec should i use ?

any sort of suggestions, would help and save my time. Much appreciated guys !!

For oil and other specs please refer to the link on the thread "Dewan Lancer Manuals". You'll find quite a lot of useful material there. The owner's manual has an oil chart for using different grades in different temperature ranges.

For your other problems, the following are the likely culprits:
-Map sensor
-O2 sensor
-Ignition coils
-Spark plugs
-Fuel filter
-Fuel pump
-Dirty fuel tank
-Dirty injectors

You can find tests for all these things in the factory service manual. It's a big folder and all parts are hyperlinked so download them all in one folder before using. Also, there's a separate unlinked chapter for the CVT named "F1C1".
