Mitsubishi EK Wagon 2010 Auto Transmission D-mode Problem (Running in 3rd Gear only)

Hi,

I have 2010 EK Wagon, when starting running in D-Mode and above 40kmp/h, the car suggenly goes shifting gear down to 3rd and D light starts blinking. The Car does not change gear then and remains in 3rd gear only.

Its ECO Version. What can be the cause?

When I turn off the car, start it back again..it starts okay and chages gear but after sometime the same problem appears.

Apparently, it stope gear changes..not even from 1-2-3...it only stays in 3rd.

Any suggestions please! Transmission oil level & quality is okay.

how do you know quality of transmission oil ?? when was the transmission oil & filter change. or yo are running on the OEM original as from purchase day.

Auto transmission have a oil filter as well which if clogged badly affect the car performance. Blinking D means check engine & require the diagnostic tool to read all error codes. DO NOT attempt USTAADI by resetting the ECU by removing battery terminals. Fix the vehicle properly.

Yes, runing on original Oil as yet. The oil dipstick seemed clear but I will offcourse try first Transmission Oil & Filter Change.

The Blinking D goes off when I turn off the car, and comes back after I retart and go a few miles.

please without hesitation go for transmission oil & filter change. 95% chances are problem will be resolved. when doing so take camera along and snap pictures of drained oil & removed oil filter - along with new filter, do not forget to post pictures & driving results. if thats' not too much to ask

Off course I will do that! and will share pictures and performance... hope its that simple a problem and thanks for the replies!

However if I need to go for a diagnosis checkup, can you recommend a workshop who have the diagnostic tool to check any fault codes? Blinking D means, its in Failsafe mode and any computer problems may be addressed?

This is the trans getting a speed sensor read error or shorted wiring to the solenoids or the speed sensors, No reset can fix it, you need to scan the fault and repair it.

I am having like this problem since last week or so,
4th Gear not shifting properly, but shifts at 40 mph in eco without pedal,
any reliable service provider
Had original Mitsubishi ATF oil changed from Makki Oil store last week

did you go to a workshop? or scanned it yourself?

Mitsubishi transmissions rely 100% on the TCU to shift and run, they shut down the shifting program to save the transmission from damaging further if a huge anomaly like missing speed sensor or shorted solenoid is detected.

It can also be that the transmission bulk connector has come off the transmission - this defaults it into no shift
(basically the transmission is in direct drive and remains stuck in it)

it still shifts but have to let go pedal for 1-2 seconds at 40 KPH otherwise it goes like neutral
I got it scanned from Sukhrail, (Caristaniyan), 3/4 gear Syncro issue.
still hopping to get it done trough oil Drain/change or shift solenoid replacement
haven't got money to replace whole Gear
ATF SP III Pic attached for reference, Mid November 2020 (3 Ltr was replaced)

Also got it checked from Classic AutoZone Irfan Falak, a friend and ex coleague Daewoo
he got the car on Jack, started and put it in reverse gear for 15 min, He thought that after CVT trans oil change it has to be done in-order to remove any bubbles
I asked him if the oil level was high, as per him it was OK
