Mitsubishi i, 660c Intercooler Turbo - Info/Maintenance/Spares

Is it possible to diable the turbo function, so that it should consume less fuel while driving within city. I am importing Suzuki Stringray 2012 Model and it has turbo function.

All turbo intercooled cars are designed to be more efficient in terms of power, however this leads to a low fuel economy. The only way I could possibly think of disabling the turbo would be to disassemble the turbomanifold and reroute the inlet air. You may also need to bypass the intercooler. By doing so the ECU would than adjust to the new conditions (Air/Fuel mix) less air means engine would take in less fuel, however the drawbacks would be sluggish performance.

It would than drive like a normal 660 cc car, whilst with turbo the Mitsubishi I-mev is equivalent to the amount of horsepower a new Vitz produces and with that sweet power to weight ratio, it's much faster than most 1000 cc's.

It might look small but it's quite spacious. Having the engine in the rear makes cabin room more spacious with a good forward cabin space. The only thing to complain would be the room in the trunk, nonetheless like all hatchbacks, luggage wouldn't be too much of a worry.

If you compare the Mitsubishi I-mev, it is surprisingly lengthier than new Swift, Vitz, and subsequent small sized hatch.

just wanted to know about few small things.

after how many kilometers should i change the genuine oil filter and air filter???? (they came expensive lol). UPDATE : mitsubishi suggest u should change it after 12,000 KM

already installed new AC filter which comes with a mileage of 12,000 KM

also where can i get the ATF for this car??? UPDATE: you can find it anywhere, i just got the dexron atf sp3 3 Liters with filter cleansing

also please advice how to drain the radiator coolant and ATF (flushing also) UPDATE: there are two flushing points underneath the car. front side. 1 liter coolant 3 liter water

the items were not directly shipped to Pakistan. entire order was divided in two shipments. as few items were only available in japan. so half from uae warehouse and half from japan warehouse. both orders were shipped to an address in uae. from there the items were hand carried by a friend to pakistan. if i had received them directly at a gpo here in pakistan then i would literally be ripped off coz of customs and taxes and stuff. website is www(dot)amayama(dot)com

you need to sign up first and then send them inquiries for the parts u want. two payment methods are available. bank deposit and Paypal but for Paypal u need the same address on file which will be used for shipping parts. better option is bank transfer (Swift transfer) but u need extra 30$ as intermediary fee. its always better to send them extra in case u wish to order in future. right now i have some balance in my account which can be used anytime i want. the website is perfect for all your car needs by the way. parts are guaranteed genuine. even i ordered some spare oil filter and ac filters etc if someone is interested to buy.

Nice work bro, Thanks for sharing the items, code and a channel for other buyers to get help. Since I am no longer available in my home country feel free to share more details.

Also do an easy engine detailing. Four steps to follow:
1) Wash Engine bay with high pressure water thoroughly
2) Spray some Kerosene in the engine bay with high pressure air gun and let it sit for a while
3) Wash the Engine bay again with High Pressure water
4) Use a high pressure air gun to dry the engine bay thoroughly, this is the most important part.

Let the car sit in the Sun for a while and gently idle it for a while, keep the back cover and trunk open for it to dry out. You can use your preferred service station to assist you with the service, just for a little bit of tip they would service the car the way you prefer.

These JDM cars are designed to be water tight, as you can see with the ignition coils and connectors, are all water proof.

Your engine bay would be all cleaned of oil residue and unwanted grime, and this would helps the car to stay cool and reduce gaseous odour.

And don't forget to pressure clean your intercooler and spray some cleaning fluid such as WD40 through your exhaust for some extra turbo whiz! It will run like a dream.
