Mitsubishi Lancer 1.3 & 1.6 GLX

Hello ppl! Hey has anyone driven the new mitsubishi lancer. Need ur comments on drive pleasure and engine performance (pick etc). What do u guys recommend ?? Corrolla 1.3 vs. Lancer 1.3...which wuld be better in term of

1.performance an
2.durability
3.Resale (I think corolla wins here)

First of all i would like to say that for next one and half years dewann mortor corporation will import complete mistsubishi cars. Assembled completely in japan. So as a matter of fact people buying mitsubishi in this era will be very fortunate to have 100% japanese car. No comparison
Performance:
1.3 gl lancer is awesome,
1.6 glx is excellent with back lights in silver or red colour. pickup awesome, but still has 104 BHPs i.e 26 BHPS less than honda civic.
2.0l diesel, 2.0l petrol and 2.5l v6 galant are a thing to have if u have enough money to spend.
Beauty
What u expect from genuine japnese car? Real state of the art machine.
Reliability
Sir its a japnese var with Made in Japan logo, no need to have any doubts in mind
Thats all budies, fortunate people to have Mitsibishi series

Brother no hard feelings but there's a correction I would like to make, The Mists cars r "Made in Japan" not assembled in Japan (a trick Played by DMMC). I have talked to the management of DMMC & I came to know that these cars are assembled in Thiland.

U asked 4 things, performance, durabiliy, performance, spares & resale.
Lancer is definately better than Corolla in Performance & Durability but Corolla has got better resale value (ever since) & its parts are also cheaper than Lancer but there is one thing which u left, i.e. of Quality. & in that regard I'd say that "Mistubashi & Mazda have always been the best Japs could make"

Lancer is a nice car. Nice design. Good technology.

Where it beats corolla, looks mostly.

Perfomance may be ( becuase mistu normally use low rpm peak power i.e. your rpm meter might be up to 8000 rpm but peak power might be around 5500 rpm. (not like honda keep pressing)

Mitsubishi engine's normally get a bit noisy at high rpm's.

As far made in Japan is concerned=impossible (cost is too expensive)

Made in Thailand quality will be either same or a bit better than Made in Pakitan.

Parts: will be expensive

Resale: will totally depend on how successfull car's initial sales were and how good DMMC's marketing and after sales support will be.

on the bright side, alot of after market accesories will be available, including turbo kits and body kits.

1.3 corolla can beat Lancer 1.3 in Resale only but gradually this difference will vanish too Cause Dewan Motors had launched Lancer with proper dealerships for the frist time in Pakistan .....
In pickup and speed Lancer wont let Corolla catchup to it... Cause imagine A Japo Carr Its marvellous............

Lancer is better ..no doubt and as for spares and resale.these are bound to improve as Lancer has been launched in Pakistan for the first time....properly..........A cousin has bought a new 1.6 GLX i drove it.......it feels totally different than civic and corolla.........and far more smooth.....and fun to drive....plus the instant u pick up the bonnet u see the difference ..it has some weight.......some metal.......not all TIN like...civic and corolla.......

thanks alot u guys. a secon opinion and healthy critcism is always good. since one of u guys mentioned tech. does the 1.3 have any innovative design features like toyota corolla has vvti(not sure if paki corolla has that) etc.

yaar!! u people r at the edge of stupidity.. when u talk performance.. it is engine and both engines of corola and lancer r made in japan.. and no doubt corolla is better reputed all over the world.. forget that lancer can beat corolla... uf.. so many foools here.. kia bakwas hai

i agree wid u speedster the lancer 1.6 does has vvti or DOHC engine here and its cant beat vti or se saloon ins performance, while same is the case with 1.3 lancer
