Mitsubishi Lancer 1.8 GDI Exclusive

Hi guys,

Sharing my experience of owning a Lancer Station Wagon.

About 1.5 years ago, i bought a custom auctioned Lancer station wagon from a friend. While i was a little skeptical about the purchase, i went ahead since the car was in great condition and did not have alot of miles on it. Also because i was moving to Lahore, i thought i should have something which is nice, comfy, spacious and reliable on long hauls.

To my surprise, the time ive spent driving this 1.8 litre GDI (known to be notorious) has been nothing less then delightful.

During the last 14 months, i have driven it around 14k kms. 90% of these miles are put on ring road, m2, murre express way to various destinations like Azad Kashmir, Nathiagali etc..

Upgrades so far

• The tyres have been upgraded to 15/65/195 Toyos which in my opinion are excellent tyres in terms of both dry and wet road grip. Also added a little to the ride height. The road clearance on this car is surprisingly good since i am yet to scrape (even when fully loaded).

• ICE to Pioneer AVH

• Steering Wheel Controls
• Front Components (Alpines) with 4 channel rockfordfosgate amp
• JBL SUB with JBL Mono Amp (invisible as it is kept in a custom made enclosure)
• Baseues fast wireless charging phone mount
• Recommended twin tip spark plugs from Mitsu DXB
• Much needed catch can mod for GDIs

Very nice, really makes me miss my Lancer. With 4G93, it should have proper power too! Looks superb, inside and out, Mashallah

So far, i am yet to find myself struggling for power. It does 180 on M2 pretty easily.

Took it to Monal with 5 people onboard and it was a breeze.

But the real power is felt while overtaking going uphill. It also handles and brakes surprisingly well. This one has 4 wheel disc setup and i had to import the pads since the rotors are oversized as compared to local / JDM sedan versions.

i used to owned 2006 brand new lancer 1.6 Dewan imported, i had few stuff like intake, exhaust , 17inch and also nitrous just for fun to beat reborn civic on drag as it was such a slow car with 4G18 105hp. Later i was trying to source out 4G92 mivec 170hp or 4G93T 190hp but no luck as it was costing too much to import from Malaysia so i sold it and got new civic reborn oriel manual. Here's some pic i had save in old flash drive

Very nice... 4G18 is not fast but a pretty reliable motor.

Yes Lancer is a terrific car but the 4G18 offered here is a hauler engine. Mated to the CVT it makes its peak torque around 2800 rpm so the response is good, but the overall power is underwhelming. The one I had was a 1.6 manual and power was so so. That's why, as a Lancer fan I would love to own one with something more interesting under the hood.

i had manual too but without sunroof. A friends friend did the swap 4G92mivec on his black lancer and ran for a year then swapped 4G63T fwd only.
