Mitsubishi lancer cranks but won't start

bought a mitsubishi lancer 2 days ago,2006 mdl 1.5 engine, engine oil is in very bad condition and i got the car cleaned.drove the car about 350km yesterday and it as working fine but today it just cranks but it won't start. i tried to push-start it but no luck. i'm not a expert with cars but i think the problem may be with the air filter, fuel pump or the spark plugs.i am going to get it checked today and i made this forum to help others having a similar issue.
plz reply if you think something else might be the issue.

I have a similar car and other Lancers as well. Check if the fuel supply is there if it is there the it is the ignition system of the car.
Keep us updated on the issue..

couldn't get the mechanic today because i was busy,so the issue is delayed till tommorow.
and i can't check the ignition or the fuel supply myself

Oho I myself own a 1.6 lancer05 but never recommend this car to anyone else..especially those who are not grease monkeys themself.
Ask ur mechanic to see if crank sensor is ok along with other electronics

the mechanic replaced two spark plugs, two "coils" and all 4 fuel injectors.
since changing the spark plugs and the coils did not affect anything, he also changed the coils.
the car has started but it's doing something called "missing" now.
the mechanic is still trying different stuff to fix it.although i think the old "coils" were ok, the mechanic charged me 3k rs to replace with othe 2nd hand coils and took the ones already fitted in the car with him.

the problem seems to be gone now, no missing and car starts ok.
the following things were changed:
2 spark plugs
2 coils
all 4 fuel injectors
total cost 6k

You should have changed all the Four Coils with new sets! have you scanned the car for error codes?

If it's stock 4G15 then there are only two coils, one for each duo of cylinders.
You will have to learn to get ur hands dirty if u want to keep this vehicle....
Change the remains spark plugs as well...and keep an eye on water level inside the radiator and not just the reservoir bootle

ok, issue number one solved and here's another issue.
when the issue was solved, the mechanic asked me to take it for a test drive. it seemed to be good (drove below 40) . but when i drove it on islamabad expressway the car won't go above 40 kph.
HELP!
and yes, there are only two coils in my lancer. I always check the water level inside the radiator before i drive and surprisingly the water level drop after a 350km drive was not so much, maybe it's because of the dual fans which keep the radiator cool. Anyways, i'm gonna bring the mechanic again tomorrow.let's see what he says

might be relevant:
changed engine oil as well
and filled 1000 rs hi-octane fuel
and after all these changes, the "missing" is gone but car won't go above 40kph

the Car is in Limp Mode, Scan the Car for error Codes. Unless you scan it and check the errors logged by the cars computer you wont get an answer to your problems.

The Last time i changed or Added Coolant in my car was six months ago. i have driven it at-least 10000 kms. not a single drop has escaped! as it should be.

ok, how do i scan the car for error codes? where do i get an obd2 scanner?

the car is not starting again today and yesterday the car started missing again while it would not go above 60kph
the car is getting on my nerves and the mechanic was also talking about getting it scanned by a computer

It seems like the op is facing a flaky crank sensor issue,

Its a very simple car, and mitsubishi being modular makes it easier to work on. Regardless of this.

Throwing parts at owner expense and praying it works is not a good idea.

thank you for responding, my brother just took the car to "sultan da khu" in rawalpindi where he will get the car scanned by some computer (as the mech told me),probably obd2.
i also noticed that one of the new fuel injectors that he replaced was leaking as well.I didn't pay the mech for the fuel injectors(2000 rs) cuz nothing changed after that infact it got even worse.
current state of car:
. got engine oil,fuel filter and air filter replaced
.coils replaced
.2 out of 4 spark plugs replaced
.all 4 fuel injectors replaced
.missing occurs at low rpm
.car not catching speed
.car started when i pressed the clutch and then gave it sulf

i will get it checked for crank sensor today, thanks
