I have a JDM lancer 2002 model. Mind you the Lancers Dewan Motors imported were manufactured to order and not comparable to the one manufactured for local Japanese market. I am saying this because I have one 2007 lancer 1.3 GLX (bought zero meter ) from Dewan Motors and this 2002 JDM lancer also 1.3 GLX bought used. this car was imported by an individual in 2002 zero meter from Japan. Mileage is now 118,000 km. Its drive is hundred times better than the lancers imported by Dewan. My 2007 lancer has mileage of only 43000km and its drive cannot be compared to the JDM one.
Having said that the lancers imported by Dewan (which you mostly see on the road) although being much lighter than JDM lancers are still much better than Hondas and Toyotas being produced locally in Pakistan.

My advice would be find a good lancer, one that has been maintained and go for it. You will not regret it. Regarding the reconditioned one, you will have to check very carefully as lots of people are not happy with them due to flooding in Japan and nuclear radiation leakage there etc etc.
