Mitsubishi Mr Slim 1.5ton

I just bought a 1.5 ton Mitsubishi Mr Slim Split AC. It is drawing about 8.9 Amps; which i suppose is too much for a split.

Can anyone please tell how much current their 1.5 ton Split ACs draw?

I think 1.5 ton ACs work on 9 amp (min) and 11 amp (max). There is no hard and fast rule but a general opinion wrt ACs available in Pakistan. There is a mettalic plate on your unit somewhere which shows all imp values including the amperage. If I'm not wrong the ! ton mitsubishi which is 13000BTU consumes 5.5 Amp then the 1.5 ton should be around 8 Amp +

Mr. Slim has the lowest consumption @ 9.0 amps.
My Daikool 1.5T draws nearly 11.0 amps

There is new model of mitsubishi in mkt they say its energy saver it consume 7.9 to 8.3, but the problem its size is like huge! thts a -ve point its costing around 55k

Damn i just checked my Haier 1.5 ton split and it's rated at 11.5.

energy saving ACs generally have rotary compressors instead of usual piston type. but so far the repair technology for rotary compressors in pakistan is very poor. So a rotary compressor AC is economical till its compressor siezes not to mention that it is expensive as well.

Can you mentioned its model number, that too low for a two ton ac, if it's not a inverter based technology.

I am using 1.5 ton mitsubishi mrslim which i bought in 2007 recently i have installed digital amp meter its working on 7-7.5 amps ..

We are having 4 Mitsubishi Mr.slim and 2 Mitsubishi heavy duty units at home.

The 1.5 ton heavy duty one takes around 7.8 amps witg full gas levels. This is from day 1.

1 ton takes 4.9 to 5.2 amps.

My sisters LG 1.5 ton takes around 11 amps and varies Upto 11.6.

I am having a Mitsubishi Mr slim and I haven't seen Ampsusage.... Now I am planning to buy another one but this time an inverter.. Suggest me plz should I buy inverter or Mitsubishi again?
