anyone has any feedback / advice relating to engine seizure at continous speed on motorway for this model?

This is the myth that on highways Pajero seizes its engine on high speed, its not that way, its due to the EGT(Exhasut Gas Temperature), the egt limit for pajero or any diesel engine is 800'C 4D56 & 4M40 these engine produce too much egt, if you look into it & prevent it from high egt then there will be no seizure! I had pajero for 2 years, did many highway trips, didnt get seizure, coz i controlled EGT, installed bigger intercooler, & using good engine oil.

Especially 4D56 is not meant to run on 120KM/Hr at motorway. 4M40 is better than 4D56. But still you have to keep check on EGT

actually i was driving a pajero and its engine seized on motorway despite of changing its engine oil before departure just 20 minutes on motorway at a speed of 130 kms / hour the engine seized EGT we have no way to control the only thing we can do is have a variable accelator and drive below 120 kms / hour i lost confidence in mitsubishi engines whats the point of buying such an expensive vehicle around 15 lakhs which cant even drive at a higher speed......better to stick to toyota landcruiser which is tried and tested in all conditions

Obviously toyota is matchless in SUVs..no match with most unreliable engines of Mitsubishi.

Toyota is matchless in making uncomfortable and unstable 4x4 toyota L series engines are famous for cracking head and kd are famous for injector failures too

4d56 is much more rekiable than 4m40 have you seen how local shezore driver take heavy cargo from one city to another on highway speeds? 4d56 is not as torquey as 4m40 but much better in reliability check newer direct injection version if 4d56 in ls200 sport torque figures are very nice

i don't understand how pple seize up there engines , one or two my familiar persons have seized there engines, but i rode my 2.8 on motorway at 140km per hour , actually i had raced with my cousin who had a 2.0 turbo diesel jdm corolla , he never had seen my tail when i paddle my pajero , nothing happens to pajero and she stopped at lowri pass non stop . there is something wrong with the maintenance of rides who were seized , like choked radiator , no coolant only water all the way which made a lot of rust and choked radiators fins etc.
Mitsubishi is a Capitalist company of the world how can they made a ride which can not run for 20 minutes on motorway while they advertise on her first Add of tv commercial that this SUV can go to 100 in only 10secs .. you can watch that tv add on you tube i guess.4M40 is a pioneer engine by Mitshu even it came in 2005 to 2008 Pajero and L200 even in 2013 in L200 and Delicia , why they don't stop making it if it's that bad and seize every there and now. i don't believe in that it's a fault of engine instead it's a maintenance faultier of a user . Pajero heats up but only when riding on places like Babusar Pass , or heights of Deosai Planes when coming from skardu side , other then this i never she her failed .Check it with the founder of pakwheels aka Hanif Bhatti sahab who owns her for decades and drove her a lot through all over pakistan

mitusibishi pajero is very good for mountainous rides only not for motorways at high constant speeds it seizes issue is with the engine design not with radiator etc trust me have been there....checked all aspects

Pejaro is a class apart. The only issue is that it requires care but we don't give it the care it deserves. And cherry on top are our so called specialist mechanics who think they know much and rather than learn they give the verdict that the Mitsubishi is not a good company and thus their product is bad.

Use proper settings. Don't advance the diesel pump. Use thermostate with coolant. Check if turbo waste gate is working properly , if EGR is working properly. EGR controls the heat at constant high speeds by opening a valve to recirculate exhaust back into intake. However our mechanics are against it. They block it off. So small things matter huge.
Toyota is a different story. But since the overwhelming population is of Toyota thus our mechanics try to set Mitsubishi like toyotas.
Thus disaster strikes.

Mitsubishi 2.8 cc Diesel Pajero, is an outclass product, I enjoyed a lot of ride and drive, we have been using it since 1995, I love it.
The issue/trouble which we faced was its gas-kit/engine seizure, then we collected all diesel engineers and they pointed out few things.
1. This vehicle isn't for racing, not aerodynamic, so driving it under 2500RPM 90/100km per hour is safe.
2. Its ac condenser is with small lapses/narrow net, which stops/blocks air, use a Toyota condenser to save the engine.
3. Radiator fan is mechanical, it should be electrical if there is a severe hot weather
4. Thermostat valve, automatic fan and removing turbo is helpful thing.
