Mobil Oil mixing in diesel

Someone suggested your diesel prado will give optimum results when you mix 1 litre of Mobil Oil in full tank diesel. Guru’s thoughts please? Thanks.

such tricks were performed over the old school bedford & leyland diesel engine equipped vehicles.

talk to that some one more and he will tell you to drain all coolant and use pure spring water, burn fire under carriage for quick start in cold weather

you do that in efi diesel motors and rest assured engine will SMOKE to DEATH before its designed life.

dont know about prado. but 2.0d 2001 model on every tank full 1/4 liter mobil oil was mixed. and results were awsome. enjine sound decreased and disel avrage was increased. no idea if ur ride have efi enjine. if its have simple than on on full tank u can mix half liter oil is enough

again this is happening in long haul private TAXI class Toyota 2D salon & Hiace Vans., they spend less on maintenance to get more profit after paying installment to the investor. The owners are least bothered for vehicle maintenance, for them One day at workshop means loss of MONEY.

bro capsat what is insanity in using oil in disel ? fyi it was private car and was had healthy injen. no blow no smoke what so ever. it was driven till 180k on geniune injen. and routine mantinance was on time even air filter was stock and not oiled one and changed after 10k interveal with geniune toyota one and sound of car was awsome. even filling guy asked beafore filling disel is it realy disel or petrol. a bro asked for suggestion and i gave him according to my experience.

There is no insanity in mixing engine oil in diesel many diesel owner world wide actually use old used engine oil as cheap alternate to diesel even us militry had diesel truck which were made to run on engine oil
We cant expect people to know how diesel engine works thus we came across such issues I have 4m40 4d56 cl61 3c t diesel and adding 2 stroke oil with diesel is done on all and this pratice helps cleaning precombustion chamber of diesel engine which improve swirl in combustion chamber and ensure diesel gets "well mixed" with air before at combustion point

my Catch

1. The fuel filter is not designed to deal with the viscosity of diesel after adding oil it.
2. Likewise, the injectors, where the nozzles are almost microscopic in size, are not designed to deal with the addition of oil to the mixture.
3. Making it a regular practice will hurt the pump & the injectors both

1) fuel filter is design to stop dirt and derbis etc any fluid can pass through it but offcourse thick fluid will be hard to go through tighter tolerances
2) diesel actually becomes gel on cold and diesel engine have pre heater and glow plus to heat up combustion chamber to the point where oil (diesel it self is oil) can vapourize
3) additional lubrication wont harm diesel pump

Please stop calling it Mobil Oil, it's engine oil,
Mobil is just one of the many companies that sells engine oils and other lubricants.
This is like calling a vacuum cleaner a Hoover or a photocopier a Xerox.

Interesting. Researched a bit more and noticed that people from several countries are using engine oil in their diesel as well as gasoline tanks.

Using ATF once a while is said to clean u r fuel injectors in gasoline engine though i am not very convinced with it.
Use of lubricants in diesel is quite common and it acutually help u r fuel injector last longer. Fuel injector has small pistons which compress the diesel.
We use it in our trucks and i am still running on stock engine on my 94 kato , mitsubishi 8 cylender.

if hes worried about water and recommending to mix engine lube oil to prevent this - Please stay away from this person. water will get in regardless of you adding, mobil1, PSO, caltex oil or even tullo, dalda or planta to your fuel load - if water is already part of it

diesel and engine oil are miscible but still are less dense than water making it float. In any case if you have water in the fuel tank you need to keep an eye on the sediment tank warning and drain it immediately or flush the tank out.

If lubricity is a concern then you need to add some "ashless" 2 stroke oil to the tank at a max of 70:1 ratio - and not more, Dumb moronic mechanics in pk think that regular 30/40 engine oil is also 2 stroke oil because ricksha runs on it. Its not - 2 stroke ashless oil is literally blended to ignite unlike lube oil which is blended to prevent atomisation and ignition.

btw - the vespa 2 stroke ricksha/scooter engine runs very very good if you blend 2 stroke oil in the petrol and not lube oil. - But - you cannot fix ustaad/shaagird syndrome because apparently the manufacturer are idiots.
