fellows, please guide me if there are any technical issues involved in MNP? i mean are there any issues with SMS/call receiving, 3g/4g, coverage etc on the ported number? i heard some services do not work on ported numbers.

I think every service works. My office number shifted from Mobilink to Telenor to Uffone to Warid to Mobilink :).
I shifted my personal number from ufone to Zong.
The only issue I faced on my personal number was that SMS from bank when a transaction in my account takes placed, stopped coming in. I had to follow up with them and they took 2 weeks to resolve.

Yeah. Thats what i was asking. That some sms services gets disturbed with porting of number. So why did this bank thing happened?

Happened with only one bank. One of my friend told me some technical details behind it but i do not remember. Bottom line was that it was bank's fault, they needed to update something in their system. Since I was rigorously following up with them through phone / email so finally they solved my issue 100 percent and no problems now. But again, happened with only one bank. For the other bank and for other places where i have subscribed or get SMS messages, it is working fine.

Experienced it myself. Ufone to Mobilink to Telenor to Warid and nothing adverse happened. Worked smooth. Heard that they want at least 3 month's period before changing the carrier.

I guess that bank is MCB

No, it is SCB. But I guess you faced it on MCB

the only issue i faced was late deliveries of bank transaction sms and some times non receipt of otp sms.

These issues can be resolved. Just have to follow up. I have been now on Zong for more than 2 years (ported) and no issues faced other than SCB which I got resolved.

It's been weeks I am following up with NBP as I am unable to get OTP for their app.... I am sick of this... I never had a problem with ported number until this NBP app... They say to wait 24 or 48 hours and call again if not resolved... And I called again and again. Today I lost my temper when the agent said to wait for 48 hours and call again if unresolved... I told him if I have all the free time to call just to hear the same crap... Then he said to hold, and let me talk to superior, after five minutes on hold, he came back said your issue will be resolved in few moments. Try again and you will get otp... And a day passed and I am still trying and nothing works... Now they are even lying.... What kind of people we have in our Sarkari institutions, get pays and do nothing... The state of IT in our Govt institutions is pathetic just like the new IT Minister....
