TO ALL: Incase your Zenith Carb goes bad, you can put in the following;

Suzuki Highoof, Suzuki Super Carry, Datsun 1500, Suzuki Potohar (needs the return fuel line setup to be fabricated). I have also heard that the Chinese Changan's carb is very close to the Zenith Carb.

Have not seen it, so can't sayy for sure.

My 825 is ready today... check out in pics...

Very few cosmetic jobs are yet due, however rest of the things are fine.. taken the rig out for test off road trip.. amazing all fine mashallah.

I have converted the electrical system to 12 volts to avoid reliability issues... to me i think must change the carb as well.

My dentor has done this paindu job of bumpeters steel color... shall change this as well...

Sarmad, do we need to fabricate return line for all these mentioned carbs??? moreover which one is the best and need least mods?

Kamran,

Good job, looking nice. I'm sure it feels good to have it back. A few observations, I hope you don't mind me pointing out;

Head light rings, dash plate & rear bumpers need to be body color and not chrome. Not looking good man. The front bumber towing shackles go the other way around, so that they rest on the bumber, rather than the grill (check my single one in the pic above). Put in a dust boot cover for your gear lever. I know there's one down below, but cover the opening. You can put in an axle boot & that looks and works fine. The yellow things, is that yellow grease or paint ?

As for the carbs, the Carry/ Highroof ones are with the least bit of mods. They have return lines. You can also check before buying. The potohar one does not have a return line and need to be installed. I have had the Potohar & the Carry ones both, I did not feel any difference, other than that on my pocket. Infact i'm not happy with the Potohar carb's functionality.

Datsun 1500 is a down draft carb & supposidly was widely used as replacement to the original. I'm going to refurbish the original one again and put that back on.

Points well taken and Agreed!!! I beleive that there shuould not be any steel or golden color in the rig... Sorry for the towing shakle Gear Shaft Boot needs replacment but it will be done after some adjustments, as it seems that there is some problem in 4x4 shifting stick... Gear is noisy in slow speeds and shifter is very hard.. would check it out first then fix the boot etc..
Yellow is the color, The painter got it painted copying army vehicles:)

Kamran,
Don't go for a new carb unless you are sure you are happy with it performance. I suggest you go for a used one in working condition (take out). That way if things within the carb are required you can have them replaced. If you are not happy with the performance you can change to another one.

So far I have been using Caltex Havoline engine oil & Guard filter (i think it says Toyota) will check and let you know for sure. It is smalller in size & not as long as the stock one. Pic attached, mine's on the right.

Every carb has return line i guess... Did you mean Return pipeline fabrication from Carb to Fuel tank for backward flow? If yes then it means that mutt stock carb does not have any return fuel option.. ?
