RAWALPINDI, May 16: The federal government has banned the spraying of military green colour on private cars as that can pose security hazard, it has been learnt.
The inspectors-general of police of the four provinces and Islamabad as well as the excise and taxation officers have been directed to impound all such vehicles and submit a report by May 25.
According to a source, the police have also been directed to impound all vehicles with military colour that had been either auctioned by the military or purchased by the owners from any other source.
The source said the government would take strict action against DCOs and ETOs if any vehicle having military green colour was found in their jurisdictions after the May 25 deadline.
A large-scale campaign by the police is likely to start against such vehicles.
