I have just started my MUTT so much work still left. here are early trail pics.

Sorry for staying away for so long.
Here i have uploaded pics. I just have started my MUTT. so much work still left.
I only altered following things to avoid problems in running.
- Changed it fuel pump from manual to Electronic.(chineese cost 700 Rs)
- Changed the distributer to Pothohar jeep.
- Changed Front indicators and used Willys.
- Carborator replaced and I bought New Suzuki Pick up and got amazing consumption.

by using suzuki carborator I am getting better millage than mehran on petrol. I have not calculated but amazingly I put 800 rs petrol and daily I used it normal with in city in evening for 5 days. Im quite happy.

Looks like you have started off well. Just a few questions / remarks on what you have done and why.

• Changed it fuel pump from manual to Electronic. The minute your battery dies, so will the fuel pump. Be wary of that.
• Changed the distributer to Pothohar jeep. Why ? Have you switced to 12v ?, if so what about the generator / alternator ?
• Changed Front indicators and used Willys. WHY ?
• Carborator replaced and I bought New Suzuki Pick up. Good doing, did you fabricate a return line to it or was it already there. I hear that the Chinese Changan pickup has an identical carb as the MUTT's Zenith.

I would assume that the cross would be the same as others & available at spare part dealers, of the same size.

1- You are right, Manual fuel pump was best for it. but I couldnt find any. so was the option i changed. and I keep one extra with me in case of emergency. and after changing to electronic I came to realize if Batteries go down I will be helpless. anyway its my first project. so i will learn from you friends these small things.


2 No My jeep is on 24 volts. original generator. Only machanic put some relay or something I will ask him this and will let you know.

Front Indicators. - - I first fixed original... one of the indicator was broken by somebody.... I didnt know... and my rear lights also broke. (the front covers...
I felt sorry... then I thought to put willeys.... no worries at all.. these should work... But in future I will fix the ganuine.. and I will call you friends to help me out in finding.

Yes carborator is Chinees CHANGAN. I bought it in 25 rupees. a little fabrication is required. it has return line also. people call it chineese suzuki carborator. I tell you its good option. very good consumption.

original carb is the best you just need to know how to make it work

cross for main shafts are 2000 a piece
for axle shafts its 500 a piece from lahore if you want i can arrange for you

My understanding is that for Mutt (rather all american machinery) hardware including bearings and seals are in inch sizes (imperial units).

Generally the cross , bearings and seals available in the local market are in millimeters (Metric units).

@Cyrius I am in Lahore for the weekend where do I go fishing for cross?
I presume that you mean unused cross and not repaired :S(A).

Why do you want to change the gearbox ? Do you intend to keep it 4x4 or revert to a rearwheel drive 4x2 only.

If you intend on putting in Hilux diffs, then try getting a Hilux gear.

No, your assumption is wrong. Others can fit in (with a whole lot of alterations)

Why is it and what is it that you don't like in the gearbox ?

hi sarmad need ur help can u share with me some info regarding installation of hummer light switch
i have installed one it was working fine for two days on third day it got fried even electrician dont know the reason do u know the problem i dont want to fry the second one
