The shackels should always be in line to your chassis rail / frame.

Dear All:
I have purchased a MUTT from the Philippines about a year ago and was unfortunately scammed by the previous owner who sold me a lemon!! It took over a year to restore the body, electrical and a lot of parts to bring it to a good condition. However, i am having an overheating problem and the mechanics here told me that there is a crack in the engine head!!! Can anyone tell me what that is?? he also said that it can no longer be rebuilt as "there is not enough metal in it anymore". He said the alternative is to swap the engine. My questions: 1- Does this make any sense to you?? 2- What kind of engines fit this vehicle and do these engines fit the transmission and will the 4x4 still work?? I would appreciate your feed back. As for what happened to you, its sad and its also a shame how overseas deals go bad. SE Asia is known for such cons.
What the mechanics say may be right & there may be a possiblility to prove them wrong too if one has the know-how of things & the situation at hand.

A few pictures of your troubles will surely help to see whats happening.
Are you based in Toronto? Check out www.g838.org for engine help & other problems.
Maybe you can land up with a stock engine.

We here can fit any suitable sized engine in the engine bay and make it work.

Hey! A very good friend of mine has been working on a mutt project for some time. He has been doing all the work himself and the vehicle has mechanically been rebuilt. He cant manage time for the body work however and is willing to let go of the vehicle. He should have good advise and information for any questions you have too.
