Hey guys
So, I've had a 1993 Daihatsu Mira, the 850cc N/A version, for close to 15 years now. It has been as reliable and as trustworthy as anything.
Now, I've decided to give back some of the love this car has shown me over the years :). I plan on improving performance primarily -- don't want to "rice" it up at all, a set of JDM-style 15's, a dusky paint job, some lowering springs, and a couple of tasteful decals should do the trick visually.
Now, seeing that I have the N/A version (the ED10K) and not the 660cc turbo, I have limited performance improvement options -- especially in Pk. I need some advice on what engine swap to go for? Since the engine bay is cramped I don't think I could stuff a 1.3 motor in there -- what about the 1.0 Vitz motor or the old Charade engine? the 660cc engine is also an option since I don't drive on CNG, but I'm not sure if it'll be worth the swap -- as any performance gains would be marginal.
What do you guys think? I'm attaching some pics for added inspiration -- it should give you an idea of what I'm thinking of going for. Mine's a four door though.
O, and for anyone advising me to sell it and get a more "modifiable" car doesn't get the point of this endeavor. I'm not looking to build a race-car, just a stealthy little hatch, and this car has great sentimental value.
