Model 2000 Gli 1.6l corolla. good choice?

yar, was the 1.6 gli corolla (esp.2000) old model pakistan assembled or was it imported by Indus from japan?
if yes, whats the diff.?

That was assembled in Pakistan by Indus Motors.

@wik_a, shehzaday, is there any difference in the interior of xe and 1.6 gli except for the wooden covers? i mean seats etc.

XE was the basic model of corolla just like today's Xli.
1.6 Gli was like SE-Saloon.
XE didn't have wooden interior, auto transmission, three spoke steering. Some other diff might be there like number of speakers or CD/Cassette player. Ain't sure about it.

There's not much difference with seats. I used it long way back and can't remember exactly about diff in seats.

wik: bhai there was no wooden interior like an old jaguar interior.. just a silly plastic sheet it has whose protective layer is coming off now.

power windows/locks along with motor installed in 13k. if you really love it,, .

steering tilt feature is useful, because standard steering is too high for driver like me.

trunk light inside trunk when you open it

,, bumpers painted that is glamour for ppl who know nothing about corolla.lol..

Gli has softer suspension especially in rear,, donest bounce around the passengers ..plus rear seats headrest,, not too huge but sufficent and nice designed.

rear speaker grill i like better/sober than yr fancy speaker grill but is only for 6 " round,, not 6 by 9.

seats are softer/driver seat has front lift under thighs,, good feature,,

gear shift knob different,,

less elbow room for driver in GL because of console box behind handle brake. ..

5 seat belts came in 1999. i am still hunting for 3 rear belts from a jdm if anyone can find for me i be thankful:)..

assembled in Jp or Pk,, better is to take out parts you like and assemble yr own.,, the rare model you assemble for yrself you'll like it more.

I guess GLi had wooden interior. Ager aap keh rahay ho to phir theek ho ga.
I used a red XE long way back when it was initially out for a small time. After that not rollas. So just refreshed my mind and pointed out some diff.
Do tell me about wooden interiors. or they were in 2.0d Ltd Edition?

one auto gli rolla standing in my porch bhai,, there is no wooden,, that is plastic cover on same dash as xe,, plus dash light dimmer and electric door mirror,, nice features.

if yr talking about brown edges in dash, that is plastic cover sticker tape not wood. Indus Toyota used it in GLi models and luxury deisel rolla

last model of GLi did ve 4 spoke steering wheel. and that is wooden garnish though plastic

guru, its in golden color, 2000 ,model,new tyres, 86500 km done, driven on petrol, mint cond final 650k.
