Motorway M4 update

Yes, it is good option to pick M-4 from Gojra before evening.
I traveled last year through Shorkot Cant- Toba in the month of October. Although, it is almost 30-35KM distance from Shorkot to TTS. But in the evening you will find only fields along the road till TTS.

Although single road is in good condition but you will find no electricity pool or anything before reaching TTS. You will feel that you are only traveling in this lonely road.

Not suitable to travel after evening or late night in my opinion.

threre is no direct Motorway yet between Multan and Faisalabad.. if you are coming from Faisalabad, you can drive till Gojra on M4 and then from Gojra to Khanewal you will need to travel to national highway and from Khanewal you can again drive on M4 till Multan.

Best route is not JHANG at the moment

I visit Islamabad 3/4 time / year and i would recommend following route

Multan-Chichawatni-Kamaliya-Tobateksingh-Gojra (Motorway-M4)-FSD(M3)-Islamabad

Kamaliya-Tobateksingh-Gojra is single road but in good condition and traffic is normal

Minimum travel time with two 15 min breaks is 7 hrs.

M4 Khanewal to Gojra Expected to open in April 2018 as per NHA website. And I believe it as most work is already done and almost complete.

As per google maps (I hope the map is not outdated by a big margin, though I would be glad to know that it actually is outdated) carpeting is not done on most parts of the road. In my opinion, it doesn't appear to be able to be functional in April 2018.

However, I wish it gets completed before summer vacations of 2018 though:slight_smile:

Google Maps (or Earth) imagery is 8-12 months old, so yeah much progress has been made and we are keeping our fingers crossed for asap completion and ofcourse an inaugural : )

This Government has put its focus on construction of roads and motorway. This year I plan to visit Astore, Deosai, Skardu in August and travel will be much different from last year. I will have a double road from DG Khan to Multan which was not the case last year (Still under construction and expected to complete in April 2018). From Multan to Gojra M4 will be complete. From Gojra to Islamabad motorway is already there. From Islamabad to Mansehra on Hazara Expressway (Is it complete?). Much easy and fast travel compared with last year. I believe one would be able to travel from DG Khan to Naran in a single day in 11 to 12 hours.

Hazara Expressway is only partially open. It ends 10km before havelian. I dont think DG Khan Multan road will be completed by august this year even though speed of work is quite impressive.
I am also waiting for Gojra Multan M4 section to complete but i have heard that more focus is on Multan Lahore motorway. In any case, in a year, we may see all these projects completed.
