Movie-maker killed in CNG cylinder blast

GUJRANWALA, June 2: A man was killed and four others were hurt in a blast at a CNG filling station near Chungi Samanabad here on Friday evening.

Report said a cab (LPT-3833), carrying a marriage party, halted at the filling station owned by Mehr Usman. During filling, its cylinder exploded as a result of which Muhammad Arif, a movie maker, died on the spot.

CNG station employee Abu Bakar, Khalid Mahmood, Siddique and Rana Khalid suffered injuries and were were referred to Lahore hospitals.

Three other cars at the CNG station were damaged. The Aroop police have registered a case and are investigating.

Yet again a reminder for all to avoid CNG upto the level that use of petrol really put you on the verge of bankruptcy.

NO matter how safe CNG fitting on your car are. You could be caught in an accident caused by leak in other cars queueing up at CNG stations whose owners are not as careful as you are.

To the Anti-Cng club:

Guys CNG is used all over the world but accidents are due to negligence and use of failed equipment. If there was a blast in a petrol station, u cant say that it was due to the use of "petrol". Grow up guys, show some maturity.

Looks like beginning of another debate with no win situation 4 both sides. BTW vil v ever get 2 know y the cylinder blasted (if it ever did)? Wat was the make and age of the cylinder? was it ever tested? etc. etc. I f there is a proper investigation only then v can find the actual cause.
BTW I pray 4 the departed soul. Allah us key darjaay buland karay, Ameen.

cng,,should not be used unless absolutely necessary.

.............remember not to smoke a cigerette inside a cng fitted car...if the gas has been leaking it will blow up the whole car as soon as you light a lighter or match stick. Just one caution among so many others.

But the thing is that why that CNG cylinder exploded?..is that was a local made cyliner?If is it so then resposible is the maker of that but if that was a branded one then its dangerous.

a very sad news indeed. they mentioned that why the cylinder blasted as they are quite good and tough and widely used just because they fulfill safety regulations . it could have been a local one as suggested by umair .
also could have been due to faulty equipment at the station.

ryt now no one cares abt any investigation into the condition ov the cylinder... all that v kno is k a precious life was lost just cuz a stoopid car owner had installed the PESKY CNG, to save a few frickin bucks... what does it take for pple 2 understand whats dangerous for them!!!
