Multan-Sukkur M5 Motorway Update?

I would not feel comfortable with bottles filled with petrol and put it in the trunk of a car whether its a sedan or a hatch. The fumes may be harmful for people not to mention dangerous to catch the fire.

If you are travelling from Sukkar, you would need at least one refueling and I've been told there are few petrol pumps near M5 Interchange on the N5 near Multan from where you can refuel your car. My Vitz 2012 easily does 15 -16 kms in one liter with AC if you keep your speed around 100-110km/hr.

thats mean i can refuel from sukkur before starting M5 then after reaching multan , i can refuel from multan for M4 untill lahore .???

Exactly that was my point.I think Vitz can easily do +450km in 40 liters. With a tank full from Multan, you can reach Lahore without another refueling if its in good condition however, you know your car better and decide according to its condition.

Do share your experience once you complete the trip.

Taking fuel bottles/cans inside the car is not advisable. Just before turning right from N-5 at Sukkur to connect M-5, you will find a PSO petrol station. Fill up your car tank to full capacity and then again fill it up when you're near Multan. There are no fuel stations on the motorway as yet, so you have to exit motorway, refuel and then again take the motorway. There are a few feasible interchanges at Shershah (near Shuja Abad), Shah Shams Tabrez, and if you are a little adventurous or your car has ample fuel left, then Khanewal Interchange. You will find fuel stations very near to all these interchanges, kindly take help from Google maps to know exactly where to turn after exiting from the motorway.
However, please note that M-4 will lead you towards Pindi Bhattian via Faisalabad which is a longer route to Lahore. A more feasible and better route is M-3 which connects from Abdul Hakim. I hope that helps.

You can fill your tank from any pump station in sukkur. From there u can reach shah shams interchange in multan. You will find plenty of pumps rught after exiting the interchange. You can refuel and can head to lahore. Dont forget to use rest rooms too

please advice how long it will take to reach lahore from karachi .

Route is : karachi to hyderabad M9, hyderabad to sukkur N5 , Sukkur to Multan M5, Multan to lahore M3

It took around 11 to 12 Hours.. depending upon your speed and stay during the trip.

3.5 Hours Sukkur to Multan
3 Hours Multan to Lahore.......

There is petrol availible at motorway,its on the second service area wether you are going from abdul hakim to lahore or from lahore to abdul hakim

I would suggest you keep about 15 hrs in mind (if its earlier its a bonus), keeping in view the stays in-between for meals, fueling and just stretching your legs & contingencies. It has to be pleasure driving - not just fast and furious driving.

That means you need to plan to leave as early as possible to be able to avoid late night driving which can result in fatigue.

Exit from Multan, there is a petrol pump just after the exit. And yes, you can easily reach to Lahore.

BTW, petrol is available on M3 at Samundri Service area.

Follow these motorway

M5 - Sukkur to Multan
M4- Multan to Abdul Hakim
M3- Abdul Hakim to Lahore

You'll find Y junction just right after Abdul Hakim from there, one Motorway will lead to Faisalabad, Islamabad which is M4 and one will lead to Lahore which is M3.
