Must read before buying new battery (UPS or Car)

I know the battery is old. It gives acceptable backup time but voltage never exceeds 13.8-13.9 while charging. All cells are good.

Can I fix it by changing the concentration of acid?

Hey bro Ishitiaq, can you please guide me what desi ups kit is best? I have Lahore electronic's but heard that Imran Brothers is good. Also there are many confusing kits available like, Gudka, fix vold, kits with trickle charger and low voltage charging etc.... I am really confused, I have to change my kit as it doesn't have Amp settings and blows fan dimmers

Go for IC 104 of Imran and Co...............Rest name are just copier, the Imran and Co kit is the best of all, i have uploaded the pic in the very same thread, check it out dear,

For dimmer, buy good quality dimmer, never use fan on low dimmer, use full or half dimmer state....There are very good quality dimmer available now in the market, ......set the out put volt of kit to 240 V

1- Does its Batt Low variable really work? as mine kit also has this variable but its setting does not affect and ups drains battery as low as 8 volts some time which I tested with digital meter. Lights and fan go dim and then I have to switch it off manually.

2- What is the combination of OverLoad and Fix volt variables as I see min<-->max written against both of them. Do they serve one purpose or different.?

3- Currently I have to change the wire connections on Main transformer to change the Amps. it decreases the volts but increases amps. Is it ok too?

Wow, The specs of IC-104 look impressive and your explanation is excellent, I understood all well.

I have currently set my output voltage to ~250 volts by changing the loop wire position from the transformer and similarly adjust charging amps by changing position of charging loop.

I am attaching image of my transformer. If charging wire connected to point 1 then it gives max amps and low volts, point 2 gives little less amps and higher volts and so on...

I am also attaching image of my charging transistors which is, I think, the simplest charging circuit using IRFP150M power transistors. Please comment on this too.

Once a shopkeeper at Hall Road showed me a kit which he was calling IDB9 and said it works great on low input voltage etc... whats your idea about it?

Is that true taking 2/3rd cup of magneciam sulphate salt and 3 cup water heating water and adding salt dissolving it properly ...... when cool down then put solution in battery and start charging and regularly use it the salt will clean plats in 1 or 2 weeks and charging gradually improves with time

is that true can any body try and share results

Dear, all chines ups (invertors) are same inside, no difference in technology, as these have fixed ampere charging so in frequent load shedding after every hour, they fail........
Now homage new model is also available with adjustable 10/20A charging, so Homage new model is better in all......

This is desulfating method, useful only for sulphated batteries having hardened cell plates, ..........Batteries having short cells, dissolved plates, having black color electrolyte are not curable by this method.........
