I am not into detailing that much; but on the last visit to Metro I picked this machine. They had a combo offer; machine + micro fiber cloths etc for 2200. There was also Black & Decker for 4000+; just England brand; it was also made in china so picked it instead. I dont know how good it is; its still packed...will try it out after Ramadhan!

WARNING: Be very careful when using this orbital polishing machine so as to not heat up the paint surface too much as that can cause permanent and irreparable damage. I have used this same machine on one of my car's and since it is heavy it presses on too hard upon the paint surface causing excessive friction/heat. It did f**k up one of the panels of my car, made the surface very rough and infact caused MORE swirl marks/scratches. The professional body shops use orbitals that are very small and lightweight. My advice would be to just polish/wax your vehicle manually if you are doing it yourself. Leave the machines to the pros.

@umer91............Bro, gear shifts are quite smooth n easy, apart from that it takes a couple of days to get adjusted to the reverse gear, which is employed by pulling the knob up and left-ways forward, like in 1.st gear. Gear 1 and reverse are at same location, else than you pull up the knob first for the reverse, something I wasn't used to and took a couple of days in adopting. I've not driven a Honda Civic, so cannot compare the shifting as such. Comfort-wise, it's pretty fine and "soft" seating, with better leg space than Honda.

I'll give it a try and post the Rpm's, 6th gear, not only on 120, but possibly in the full range between 120 and 200, lolz!

May I ask, what would the ideal rpm be at 120, fifth gear? This to know, what I should expect in the 6.th gear.

I just have a feeling, it will be at around 3200, what say?

Thanks, you're welcome! Ok, didn't take long with this query, just checked it out again, a single lightly longer press and release of the closure button brings the SR back to full closure from tilting position also, so matter solved here, viva'la Altis, lolz! Thanks for highlighting.

@mazher.......Inshallah 6th forward will be checked soon. I suppose rpm will decrease for better fuel efficiency and quieter drive than when moving in 5th gear. That should be the very purpose of it. The issue is just that you can't really employ it before past 120/130, so call it rather the "Challaan gear", instead,, ha ha ha! Also, it is best checked on a completely "zero" lane, a bit of inclination/declination of road texture changes rpm/fuel consumption readings instantly, since all these new features are digitally controlled. A stable reading is achieved only, when the car is on a plain portion of the road for a couple of seconds at least. Strange enough, while driving on KKH from Haripur and back home, I observed better fuel efficiency on the readings of the instantaneous average fuel consumption meter, at my given speed in 4th gear than in 5th, and the speed I was driving in was +80 and I usually employ 5th gear here in all my previous cars. Hence, these constant readings during the drive alone can improve your gear shifts and improve your vehicle's fuel efficiency also. Shall report back soon.

Hashim bro, do you really mean it with the CNG?? Well, if I do install it, and I've not driven CNG since 2002, been on Petrol throughout with both Corolla SE Saloon and CITY 2006 IDSI, I was thinking to do so when past 10000 Odo. Yet, I got to know yesterday that Indus now offers pre-installed CNG on 0 odo!!!

Let me be clear, I've never favored CNG, and will check the fuel consumption first, if I get anything like 14-15km/l long, hence some Rs. 5.5/ km, I'm most likely to stay on with the petrol, as long as that "commodity" stands at Rs. sub 90/ltr. The CNG option, though, is a very economical thing to have for the local drive, which in my case is around 1000km/monthly, in 2.nd/3rd gear mostly.

Yet back to rpm, going Motorway tomorrow, Inshallah.

@well i had 1.8 altis 3 years back nd its rpm was at 3200 in fifth gear on 120kph .. so in 1.6 iam not sure but it will be close to or as same as u mentioned

Thank you for the warning and appreciate your concern and advice...Another fellow pak wheeler also warned that using Polish is tricky and beginners should avoid it. According to his suggestion, I contacted the guy @ Indu$ dealer who prepares the new cars for deliveries. He will be coming on Sunday after Eid and will do it. I will be watching him and will try to learn the technique.

The (eagle eyes) Civic had a 1.6L variant too.
The VTi and VTi Oriel both had 1600cc engine.
The EXi came equipped with a 1.5L engine.
The current gen. is having the "R18" 1.8L engine.

O.K guyz! Great newz! Thanks for taking the wait, FUEL REVIEW/RPM REVIEW/6.th GEAR REVIEW, all completed now! Returned 2 hours ago, from 3 fares, covering GT Road and the Motorway, with separate reviews on fuel economy, both with AC on and AC off, and with the 6.th gear employed.

Shall post all pics and proofs tomorrow, a bit too tired now, the journeys started from shortly before Aftaari. there'll be full pictorial illustrations of the whole review.

As a "taste-maker", let me say, shortly: IT WAS AWESOME !!!!!! Never has the "rolla" rolled like this before!
