My Car Issue – Suzuki Cultus 2013 EFI not starting

Hello everyone,
I need urgent help. My Suzuki Cultus 2013 EFI is not starting properly. Here are the details:
• The Check Engine Light and Battery/Check Light both stay on.
• The fuel pump is working and fuel is reaching the engine.
• When I turn the ignition:
• On the first two attempts, the car tries to start.
• On the third attempt, I only hear the sound but the car doesn’t start.
• A few days ago, I faced the same issue. At that time, I changed the spark plugs and plug wires, and it worked fine.
• Now the same problem has come back, but I don’t think the plugs or wires could have gone bad again so quickly.

I’m currently in a village where no mechanic is available, so I have to figure this out myself.

Can anyone please guide me what I can check step by step to find the exact problem?
Is it more likely to be a crank sensor, ignition coil, fuel pressure issue, ECU wiring, or weak battery/starter?

Any advice would be really appreciated.

First see whether all the wires connecting to the battery are in good condition and there is no damage to it. If wires and connections appear fine try changing the battery, your battery seems to be the culprit.

Thanks for the tip! I checked the battery wires, and they seem fine. I also tested the spark plugs, but there’s no spark coming from the distributor/coil. Any ideas on how to check the ignition coil or crankshaft sensor without fancy tools? Really stuck here in the village.

If there was no issue with coil in the past then its unlikely the case, check coil connector/grip (not the distributor wire but the wires and connection from battery). If this looks fine then you would need a new battery, you can try asking for help from a person who has a car, they can connect their battery or give you a jump start (if battery has any juice it will jump start otherwise dead batteries dont work even after jump start).

Or you could try push starting in 2nd gear with ignition on if you have poeple who can push your car. Please be warned do not try cranking engine or switching on the vehicle unnecessary because once the battery is completely dead then you would need a new battery.

I believe its all because of a weak failing battery. A weak failing battery can throw in all sorts of problems because of not enough power reaching the components. A healthy charged battery would crank engine even if you remove coil wires. Cranking has nothing to do with spark.
