My car is driven 300 KM. It used to wobble between 50 to 60 kmph. Yesterday morning I took it to City Sales at Kalma Chowk, Lahore, for wheel balancing. The Alignment technician advised me to get the factory fitted tyres changed as they were crap and get Yokohama, Michelin or Continental. He even took me to a tyres dealer at Wahdat Road during the test drive and obnoxiously insisted on getting the tyres changed there and then. Although I have always heard negative reviews of General tyres but I was quite pleased with the tyres on this car so I asked him to take the car back to the dealership and simply balance the tyres. He told me that it would cost Rs 2,000 and that it was not covered in warranty, and the problem would recur after a few thousand KMs. By that time, I was getting calls from the office, so I postponed the plan. While I was dropping the guy off, someone even pasted the ugly Honda City Sales sticker on my car without my permission.
Took the car to Honda Fort today as I was passing by it around midday and had free time. They balanced the front tyres under warranty and the wobble is gone. I told the service adviser that Honda City Sales said that alignment, balancing was not covered and he simply smiled. He also reassured me that the stock tyres were excellent quality and I should use them without any worry for at least 50k km.
Two thumbs up to the awesome people at Honda Fort and altough City Sales is right around the corner from my house, I am never going there again.
