We are using old rubbers at the moment till the time we find good ones

Very good restoration Saquib Bhai,

The car is looking nicer by the day.

I just looked at the other thread, "a night at the workshop" that has great details as well.

How did you manage to clean the tail lights. Those look like brand new... Some special recipe is used, they look great... I bet the experience gained from the liteace restoration also benefitted this restoration. That was also a good restoration project.

Actually we have to present this car to my father on march 1, 2008 which is his birthday and he is retiring from Service on the very same day

There cant be a better gift then this old banger

Definitely the Liteace gave a lot of experiences and tricks

These lights are buffed from outside and the inner part is cleaned and painted silver (the way it was previously)

Same treatment was done to indicators as well.

What a great way to celebrate the birthday of your father. That's really creative.

Also, how in the world did you manage to keep the car almost perfectly rust free after almost 34 years. Even if car is garaged, and used sparingly, the moisture in the air is bound to get around. Mostly dry climate of the city of storage may be the key to this mystery. Is there some special secret there too, Saquib Bhai.

Thanks for the Tail Light restoration tip, I may try it one day, when I get my hands on an old Mustang 64, that I'd like to restore.

the car was badly rusted. All panels went through either replacement or sheet metal work it was a slow process and i was lazy about updates
