@Spectra, Neuro is right, bubble wrap is the way to go. Wish I had done so on my last project. Took my Docs silver Beetle to Khaled's for some minor engine work and it came back with a dent on the front fender! #%#@ is all I can say. Bubble wrap the four corners of the car, and the top of the front fenders so they dont screw it up while working on the engine..
We had the same car too, in dark yellow (what was the exact name of the shade?)

Saqib Bhai,very nice..I think it will be one 74 corolla of its kind as you managed to get original parts like lights etc for this beauty....
What is the condition of front and rear bumpers??
Did you find a pair of bumpers(scratch less) there as well in Mardan??becaause a nice set will add to the finished product.....
What about tires??silverstone???hmmmm ..need some good ones.....but you have solid/genuine reasons behind it...we may find better options in future so not bad for time being.....

Bumpers are okay but need chrome. Chrome guy says that they wont last and get rusted in a year if he did his own treatment. Its a problem area for now. Bumpers are available but not in very good shape. Pretty much same as what we have with us.

we did some refitting work yesterday evening and i got a chance to see the car running as well

This engine is idling

damn you have been very busy and i feel your pain when looking for parts, as you know my 1303 is form the same era but parts are even harder to find than for the rolla.

yes i know we have been going through same problems trying to restore cars from 1974

Hash4u wanted to have a drag of the two cars (Yours and mine). you know he still has a boy racer inside him somewhere altough his charade has now got 4A-FE with CNG

Also my father was mentioning yesterday about the sweep of market by this particular model of corolla and the way people forgot beetles after launch of KE corollas with 4 doors

So i guess a friendly run will show the real winner after 34 years

My friend amin touched 75mph yesterday with no windows on the car and it went there with ease

storm is also doing burnouts so the buildmatch for the match is good

Saqib bhai,rechroming the bumpers is a very bad idea.your chrome guy is absolutely right that they wont last...refit the same ones for now.you may come across a nice pair in future.....I hope...

Wow. Just saw this thread. Gr8 Going. Very Nice work indeed.

For the bumpers ..... (plz be warned - this info is about 7 yrs old) There is this shop in Peshawar that had a nice set of new bumpers for a '74 Corolla along with the little license plate lights. It doesn't hurt to inquire?? (If you are interested that is). Ask any friend from peshawar to go to Kuku's shop (Rehman Autos??) in the spare parts market. He had a set of these as well as '82 Corolla as well which I bought from him but had no use for the '74 one's at the time. If not him, ask around. There are 3-4 dealers in peshawar who had setup new shops (renovations etc) and they had a lot of spares for old toyota which even they didn't know they had! If you have anyone in Mardan, I'm sure u can come up with an origional replacement pair from Mardan.

I have been to Peshawar and they all guided me towards Mardan. I have been to Mardan as well and the bumpers lying over there are not as good as they should be considering the money. The person in MArdan has promised to arrange a good pair for me and i amw aiting for his call (which is expected in another 3 4 months :))

Till that time, we will use the old ones.
