Another thing to check is whether you have a check engine light visible on the dash when the key is in the ignition position with the engine off.
I spotted this anomaly when my 2003 Corolla was doing a similar crank no start thing and left a family member stranded at a petrol station out of the blue, even though it got there perfectly fine. The ECU fuse, in the under-hood fuse box, was corroded and making random, intermittent contact.
Replaced it, and the check engine light was visible on the dash again with the key in the ignition position. Cranked it, and engine started up instantly.
I would've thought that it makes some sense that they'd clean the harness connectors, but never the actual PCB. If that's what they're doing, it's madness. But I'm not surprised by Pakistani antics anymore.
