First four months were problem free. Then it started giving check engine light every once in a while. Initially I thought it was some issue related to the electronic system of the car. I disconnected the battery and connected it again but the problem kept on arising.
Mistake # 1
Here I did my first mistake and took the car to a mechanic rawal road at backside of chah sultan. He opened up the IAC sensor aka auto choke sensor, cleaned it with petrol and installed back. Then he took a test drive and dragged the car to 90 KM/H in 3rd gear. He said that this is their way of testing the car.
But the problem still persisted. I was so annoyed at this.
Mistake # 2
Then a friend of mine told me about a mechanic in Saddar in front of Tehzeeb besides a pullao shop on the other side of the road. He opened up the throttle body, cleaned it with carby cleaner, replaced the join between sensor and placed things back and took 1000 as labour in addition to the parts he replaced. After he joined the things back together, I took the test drive and the car's drive was even worse. The RPM was not going down even after I set the race pedal free. It took 4-5 seconds to come to idle without AC and 6-8 seconds on AC. He then told me that there is something wrong with the computer system of the car and I should get it checked by some guy inside a street near Mubarik Hotel near Kamran market saddar, Rawalpindi. That computer guy checked the car and told that the issue is not with the computer but with the butterfly, not being able to come to its original position after I set the pedal free.
Mistake # 3
This time I was a bit cautious and wanted to take a second opinion. I went to a mechanic in commercial market to get the issue investigated. The guy saw the car and told that the "Auto Choke Sensor" needs to be replaced. I asked him for confirmation that after replacing the sensor, will the issue resolve?
He was dead sure that the issue would be resolved. I bought the following thing named as auto choke sensor from Rajput Autos for Rs. 3500. The Chinese version was for 1500 but I went for the 3500 korean one.
The mechanic replaced the part but no luck. The issue was still there. The worst part was that Rajput Autos was not ready to get the item back.
Mistake # 4I was so furious at the situation, I decided to get rid of this car, as no mechanic is able to catch/resolve its faults. I started checking for other options
Right Decision # 1I contacted the previous owner of the car and inquired about which mechanic he used to get the car checked from. He told me of two guys in the I-10/3 Auto Market Islamabad. Electrition Qaswar and Mechanic Zaheer. I went to Qaswar's shop but he was not there and his assistant check my car. The young boy took a total of 3 minutes and my cars idle RPM was back to normal.
Right Decision # 2I went to mechanic Zaheer and got its CNG enabled as it was not in use for long. Some minor touchings to silencer+ tapets and the car was super quiet. Alhamdulillah I am now satisfied with the car's performance and confort.
