My experience with KIA Sportage

So I was travelling from Sargodha to Lahore through motorway on January 16, 2021 (5:00 pm). I was driving at 120 km/h. Suddenly, the sunroof of my KIA Sportage blew out for no apparent reason. I handled the car with great difficulty while avoiding a major accident on the motorway. Pieces of sunroof got scattered inside the car and also on the motorway making it difficult for other drivers too. Thanks to Allah, a road accident did not happen.

I bought it brand new in July of 2020. The car is driven 14718 km only so far and I was not expecting such negligence regarding the driver's safety after paying such high price for this car. The car, however, is insured and I am going to file a case in consumer court.

It is my sincere advice to all of you to think twice before buying KIA Sportage.

Try to find a firearm bullet inside the car.

Sometimes an aerial firing can result in a bullet coming out of the sky and hitting a car's roof like that.

First of all, u should check any stray bullet inside your car.
It seems to he due to that.

One of your reasons I didn't opt for Sportage. Quality issues. And the horribly expensive after sales and parts

There have been reports of spontaneous moonroof glass explosion in US/Europe as well, you can google it. It seems like for some reason, either during manufacturing or ownership, stress builds up in the tempered glass (moonroof) and it explodes without any warning.

Nothing specifically, to do with KIA, unless they are mishandling glass during assembly, which would result in more of these reports.

I was unhappy with my 10th gen. Civic, so I sold it and bought KIA. Now if I get rid of Kia, what else is there to buy?

Sunroof exploding is pretty common. Always keep your vehicle insured.

All these are untried vehicles in Pak market. At least Sportage has much better presence on the roads. Roof glass issues are present in other vehicles as well. Plenty of videos on YouTube.

Brother my sportage is of 2021 and is driven in karaxhi and today I experienced the same . However the only difference is that it exploded when the car was parked . Can u guide me .. was it covered in warranty or insurance?
