What was the conditions of the brake pads? At 20k ? Do you feeling any vibrations on high speed? Why you gone through alignment ? Balancing is acceptable

because the honda dealership does alignment and balancing of every civic at 20,000 kms.
the brake pads are perfect, however i would recommend getting them serviced at 15,000 kms - the brakes had become slightly sluggish at 15,000 kms (this is not in their standard servicing and tuning at 15k kms)

and i was done in an hour or so.

I'm so glad we went for a PKDM... the mechanic knows what to change, and all the spares are available. and the maintenance cost is very reasonable.

I just love the protective rough metal on the undercarriage , it protects this area from scrapes from awfully designed speed bumps.

dear its not the rough metal, its a PVC which is sprayed under carriage and in wheel arches before the car enters in paint shop at plant, so the baking in paint shop hardens this layer which dampens sound and protects under carriage from rust.

I don't know if its drive by wire or not, but there's a noticeable lag in the prosmatec variant atleast- its more significant in 'eco' mode.
But once it does go to a high speed, it keeps going. And yu hardly notice you're doing 120 km/hr in a 60 km/hr zone.

You took a wise decision, as this car has the same engine as the previous generation and overall the drive is more or less the same at a more reasonable price.
In my opinion when upgrading a civic, always skip a model, then only can you appreciate the changes:)

The reason for better fuel economy is light weight (Better Power:Weight ratio), and the engine of the 9th and 8th gen are not completely same the engine in the 9th gen is a lil modified for I think so better fuel economy, there's an eco mode in the 9th gen which despite not significantly helps to improve the economy is city, and lastly it's aerodynamic shape also help's to increase the fuel economy.

What do you mean by aerodynamics ???? 9th gen has lower drag cofficient .... which means less air resistance ..less wind noise ..more fuel efficiency ...

They have not disclosed how they have done it ... but you can appreciate the fact that by tweaking certain parameters and compromising on sone you can get fuel efficiency out of an engine ..for difference between 8th n 9th gen

8th gen was rated 34 MPG highway
While
9th gen is 39 MPG highway

These are the official readings by US gov ...
